Hi Gccars! Thanks for your detailed reviews on vehicle semi-autonomous features. Please continue to showcase this tech with new cars. Also when you can-- please review the 2023 new Honda Pilot-- and its semi-autonomous tech! Thanks again!

I love your videos. Thanks for such a great work. Can you please include,in one of your videos, how does the Forward Collision Warning with brake assist works ?

Thanks a lot for the kind words, glad the videos are helpful! As much as I would like to be able to rate Emergency Braking systems there really is not a way to safely do so without having a dedicated area and special built facilities.

How does this Jeep Summit compare to the new X5 and GLE 350 in your opinion? They are close in price but the other 2 are obviously more experienced in luxury sector.
@GCCarsCA
@GCCarsCA 5 ай бұрын
I haven't driven the new X5 yet, but I would absolutely take the Grand Cherokee over the GLE. The GLE, especially as a 350, is absolutely not worth the amount of money Mercedes wants for it.

Thanks for posting. We own the top trim 2023 Jeep GC L Summit Reserve V8 model and have tested this semi-autonomous system as well. We do miss the active lane change feature that our Tesla Model S has. Being able to use the turn signal to switch lanes is a really nice feature. Wish the Jeep had it. Tesla's semi autonomous driving is the gold standard for us and this Jeep system is just not as precise holding the road. I'll give it a 7 out of 10 as compared to our Tesla.

Tesla's system isn't perfect but it certainly is more capable than Jeep's. But your new Summit Reserve is an amazing vehicle so I think you made the right choice!

@@GCCarsCA we appreciate the reply GCC. So far our family is enjoying it. Jeep has come a long way with this level of refinement. Again we are coming from a BMW X7 M50i and a Merc GL550 before that for comparison purposes. It will be interesting to see what hybrid engine will come next. Still haven’t seen any changes for 2024 on the Jeep GC L three row build site. Any insights?

@@jb.2986 How does it compare to the BMW and MB? I'm considering the Summit as I write this but price wise its close to the X5 and GLE350.

@@treydrier3169 Coming from the GL550 and X7 M50I, the Jeep's been a hands down better vehicle when it comes to usability, technology, and versatility. We did not like having to lower the vehicle manually after parking the BMW which the Jeep does automatically if desired. Great for older parents and in-laws. The BMW had a nicer ride though and the Jeep captures about 70% of that ride with it's air ride IMHO. MB technology is lagging especially with the smart phone app. BMW is pretty good and the Jeep is comparable with the app. Not even close to Tesla though. But the in car tech like Fam Cam and Night Vision are awesome. We have hit a deer with almost every car we have owned while in PA. The MB 550 got the most compliments (in regards to aesthetics-midnight blue with white interior) of any car we have owned and the Jeep is second with that range rover look of the Summit Reserve and 21" wheels. The Palermo leather and finish is top notch. We hated the third row access in the BMW. Press the wrong button and you have to wait for the cycle, reset, then hit the right button. Just give me a lift lever like the Jeep. Simple quick and fast. This should not be an issue for you in the two row X5 or 350. I would not buy the Jeep with the six cylinder. We drove that and it's power is underwhelming at best. We do miss our soft close doors and cooled/heated cup holders but those are first world problems as we say. Gas mileage and tire wear has been surprisingly pleasant but coming from a performance SUV like the M50i, that is to be expected. The seat massage function on the MB was minimal and an absolute joke on the BMW. It's very good on the Jeep. The aluminum chassis on the European cars has been a strength here in the rust belt and Jeep designed this new platform with aluminum as well. Strong, light, and won't rust like the Jeeps I've owned over the years. We also love the Jeep Wave service that comes with the vehicle. Free oil changes and maintenance for the first 3 years from when the vehicle is put into service. Btw, we bought our 2023 used with 4,000 miles on it so someone else took the depreciation hit. It was a no brainer for us to jump to this platform. We've been very happy with it now that we have 8000 miles on it. The only issue is the seat memory function can be wonky when selecting preset one or two depending on who is going to drive. It doesn't always give you the exact setting you had programmed when you press the key fob which was programmed for that person. It hits the right setting about 80% of the time (for instance sets full lumbar when it's programmed for half lumbar) but it should be 100%. Hopefully Jeep will come out with a software update. The LCD rear view mirror is the bomb when the vehicle is loaded up with folks like we had on black Friday shopping. No heads in the way and folks in the car always comment on that. One last thing. As an audio enthusiast at home with a $100k+ McIntosh system in our listening room, it's great to see Jeep partner with them and offer a reference system in the GC's and Waggoneers. We so enjoy the sound especially with those blue meters bouncing. Hope this helps.

The interior quality of the Tesla is abhorrent for the price point and frankly, they are all very chintzy. We got a new iX and its a worlds different in terms of quality, albeit charging it is not fun. Just got the Grand Cherokee Summit as well.

As a 22 JGC owner, the active lane management (I don’t have lane centering though) works great on Wisconsin back roads too 👌🏽

If I hold the wheel people complain, if I don't hold the wheel people also complain. Unfortunately I can please everyone but totally understand your perspective. Rest assured that I am not putting any force against the wheel and you can accurately see how the car behaves.
