I’ve been watching your channel now for about a month, and I’m hooked! You know how to show your adventures so well! While I’m not ready to go sailing around the world you have inspired me to explore this great country of America in a sort of sail boat we call a class A Rv! Looking forward to more stops along your way! Be safe!

I installed dive compressors on boats using the hydraulic power from the engine. Part of the compressor noise comes from the compressor intake. Keep the tanks cool by wetting them down with running water. Another thing you can do to prolong the filter life is to cool the air before it goes into the filter and purge the condensation frequently!

I think what we most enjoy is the thought and planning which you put into so many of your vids. And, over time, the overall production values, including consistently good drone work, get incrementally better as well. I really liked the pace of this one.......just a nice flow. Cheers!

Bike brakes, You want the front of the pads touching first. Of course sometimes the rubber gets old and hard and you just need new or maybe a bit of sandpaper to get to fresher rubber. Take a wrench and twist a touch and see if that helps.

the disc brakes and corrosion... they ahvent been used in a while. if you were in teh market for new bikes or were to trade, get v brakes, which use a rubber pad and the outer rim surface for braking power. they are cable operated but you can get gortex cables, which will last longer and wont squeek from sailing around with all the salt water. that stuff is made of steel so... yea :) nice to see you too having fun! I think I just created a business idea and rough plan and gtg back to work! cheers

since you have disk brakes first replace the pads, or clean the ones you have with brake cleaner and sanding to get the contaminants out. if they are good for a day or 2 and than go bad, you got leaking brake calipers.if so you have to replace them, 30usd per caliper for the m7000 shimanos.

You need a couple of electric foil boards! I am a freak about sunscreen and hiding in the shade too. I have been learning to kiteboard over the last year. It was tough in the very beginning but I wanted something fun to do in the summer especially when it is too windy to be on the water in most boats.

I totally agree to Michael Samuel. I just got interested in your bikes as I thought it would be important to have real bikes on board instead of folding ones. What I thought about is corrosion on bikes. Where or how do you store them? And what's your experience with the paddle boards? I thought it might be worth to have just surfboards instead because of the longevity of hypalon things. Same reason for me to have no RIB as dinghy.

I thought I was allergic to sunscreen as well. After getting tested it was actually two ingredients commonly found in sunscreen propylene glycol and methylisothiazolinone. I use Alba all natural now and haven’t had any more issues with sunscreen. If you ever go back home I recommend being tested especially if you find symptoms when you aren’t using sunscreen. For me both these ingredients are incredibly common in soaps, lotions and lots of household products. So now I know to check everything before I buy and my issues have gotten a lot better.

Hey guys! Love the Channel and have been watching for some time! I used to be in the Canadian Navy and was posted to Victoria for 7 years :) I loved the area and can't wait to get back there! I had a question about your bottle refilling technique... I saw you were running the intake up above the compressor? Shouldn't it be below, maybe somewhere over the side of the boat, given that the hot exhaust gases rise?
@SailingNahoa
@SailingNahoa 5 жыл бұрын
Good question and sharp eye. The intake is in front and upwind of the compressor. Since the wind is always blowing at anchor this works really well for us.

Brake squeal repair... the brake pads need a few minutes of attention. 1) The brake pad surface may have become glazed. Lightly sand the pads to remove the hardened glaze that may have developed due to age, corrosion, or contamination. 2) Adjust the toe-in of the pads. Adjust the pads so that the forward edge of each pad is tipped in 2mm or so toward the rim, so that the forward edge is the first part of the pad to contact the rim. Do NOT apply lubricant (WD40 or Armor All) to the brake pads or rim.
