When my husband and I were dating he came to my house and was going through my albums. He pulled out Silk Degrees and said “who the heck is BozSkaggs”. It soon became his go to album at my place, along with Robin Trower, Dave Mason, and Gerry Rafferty. Great Music and Memories! ❤✌️

Some of the best hooks in pop music. I saw him open for Stevie Nicks years ago at Jones Beach. She was in the wings in curlers and bare feet, dancing her butt off. 🌈💕✨

The whole "Silk Degrees" album is great. Remember when it came out in 1976. It has a bluesy sound to it. Two of his most famous songs from that album are "Lowdown" & "Lido Shuffle". Some other songs are "It's Over", "What Can I Say", "We're All Alone", "Harbor Lights" & "Jump Street". "Look What You've Done To Me" was co-written by Boz Scaggs & David Foster for the 1980 movie "Urban Cowboy".

I knew you would love Boz! Lido Shuffle it’s a great song to do next but if you want to go farther, there’s a great live version that he does with his band of the 1980s song Look What You’ve Done To Me. The video is called look what you’ve done to me (live 2004.) Boz wrote the song for the hit movie called Urban Cowboy in 1980 and he performs it live in this video with the back up singers and musicians being showcased as well. It’s a bluesy ballad. Other songs to check out is JoJo and We’re All Alone, the latter was a big hit for a Rita, Coolidge but Boz wrote it and recorded it as well.

I believe the instrument you were trying to figure out was the flute. It's a real flute, not a synthesizer, also real horns along with synths. Boz is so smooth but he also does some harder rock, and currently does more pure blues. He plays guitar on his music. He sounds just as well live today as he does on his albums. The band members on this album eventually went on to form the band Toto.

Boz is magic, you're right. The Silk Degrees album is incredible, every song is great. I scanned the comments below and didn't see anyone mention his previous album, Slow Dancer. It's just as good. The title cut is a gem, and You Make It Hard (To Say No) and Hercules are both fire as well. And as for Silk Degrees, Lido Shuffle, What Can I Say and Harbor Lights shouldn't be missed as too. Boz toured with Donald Fagen from Steely Dan and Michael McDonald from The Doobie Brothers as the New York Rock and Soul Review. Scaggs covered Drowning in the Sea of Love, the soul classic. Great stuff!

In the early 70s, I was driving through Bodega Bay (in CA), if I remember correctly, and my friend and I stopped at a pub or bar or whatever you wanna call it-it was very small but very lively-my friend and I walked in, there wasn’t even a cover charge- by the time we got there it was late, and there was Boz Scaggs doing his thing. It was awesome.

Listening to Boz is like sitting down to a fine meal...when one utters the words, "This just has all the right flavors going on." The blending of his voice, with the use of instruments, beats, and sounds, background vocals. Pure magic. This song just makes you feel good to be alive. Get this one kicking on a warm summer evening...takes you all the places you need to go.

Boz Scaggs covers 40 years of music here in the US starting with Steve Miller Band and striking out on his own.His work includes work with Booker T & the MGs including Steve Cropper formed as the house band of Stax Records, providing backing music for numerous singers, including Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding His first two albums go back to 1969 and 70 and were just titled Boz Scaggs, and his Slow Dancer were early albums. He left the US for some tours in England and around the area and came back and releases Silk Degrees and this song. "Slowdancer" is a real hit from one of his early albums but here is alive version a few years back. "As the Years Go Passing By " Boz Scaggs-Booker T and The MG's "Runnin Blue" Boz Scaggs 1971 " Cadillac Walk" Memphis Album 2013 "Moments" or "Painted Bells" from Moments Album "Loan me a Dime" featuring Duane Allman

Boz put out a lot of great music, but this is his masterpiece. The arrangement is perfect right down to the 1/32 note, and the lyrics fit just right and are perfect down to the word. One of the very, very few songs that cannot be improved upon. It's worthy of real study; you can listen to it hundreds of times and still always hear something new.

This is perhaps the only song I have on my playlist-staylist that I have associated with a negative memory. I went to high school in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, and I used to work for the football team, doing their game film and highlight videos. Well, my boss was a very aggressive man (who I later learned was going through some shit at that time in his life, but I digress). One day, he showed up into the office and yelled at me for shredding something I wasn’t supposed to (miscommunication; thankfully, we had a backup), but, being a delicate kid, I got very upset and it made me cry. So I took a minute to try to compose myself and when I came back into the office, he’d turned the music on and was jamming out to this song. I love this song, but I will never forget that day, and it definitely scarred me more than it should’ve. Moral of the story: sometimes the music’s just too damn good to avoid.
