Thank you Repairs Universe!! My precious Note 8.0 fell into a cooking pot left out to soak in preparation for washing it. I had had the device for 3 weeks when this happened. First I put it in a bag full of rice and in a warm oven for a couple of hours (50 degrees C). I then left it in the bag of Rice for a few days. When I tried to turn it on, there was just the telltale sign of water damage: a battery error icon. I then found this tutorial, took my device apart, put all the parts in separate freezer bags with silica gel pouches and left it for a week. I just reassembled the device, again using this video, plugged it in and... Hooray!! It's alive!

Is it possible to buy the L shaped circuit board you removed at 4.28 in the video? What is that piece called exactly? One of the two metal wifi contacts on the top left of the board is broken off on mine hence it needs replacement. Thx.

I had the same issue a few minutes ago when I fallowed this link and continued on to remove the glass screen from the lcd screen. I got it removed but removing the sticky stuff from it was hard and I ended up cracking it some how. it really would have been nice to know. If you find a lcd replacement please let me know.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Take Apart and Destroy. Fortunately, I purchased a used Galaxy Note 8.0 locally and used its parts for the full front assembly replacement. Ya'll have got to put a side note on the video, warning of the 'difficulty' or impossibility of the digitizer removal. I haven't been that upset over repair or repair instruction in a very long time. Aside from this junk, I find your other videos helpful. Cheers.

I found that the LCD and front glass/digitizer are fused together after attempting to remove the glass from the frame. Do you have any resources for locating the LCD on this device? Even though there is adhesive between the LCD and digitizer, I'd still consider both parts necessary for a successful screen replacement on such a device.

It is very possible that with cracked glass the touch screen digitizer will still respond to touch, although that is not always the case.

You can view the back of the motherboard around the 4:30 point in the above video. Hope that helps.

Yes, unfortunately the entire device will need to be taken apart in order to replace the glass. And yes on our site the replacement part comes with adhesive strips that will secure the screen to the device.

I have some sort of a problem. Mine fell off the ground (luckily in its hard flip case). Since then the screen flickers and gives random colors whenever I press on the screen at the left side near to the top. Does that mean the screen connector is loose or is there a permanent damage? Good. I just have to stock up a couple of internal batteries and replace it once the original one is no longer working.

If they are available, absolutely. Just be cautious when purchasing such batteries that they are coming from a trusted supplier.
