I have last version of this tv (the QN900B) 75". I couldn't be happier! I love the design, and it was the first time a tv had actually 4 HDMI 2.1 ports! For my gaming, this was exactly what i wanted. The 8K wasn't the first thing on my mind when i bought this tv. It was really more all the other features like ALLM and VRR. It was completely promoted as a gaming tv and it did not disappoint. It gets very bright indeed! So be sure to be in a well lit room! I find that i need to dial down the brightness quite a lot! Even though i have a big bright room. Also, the tv is even more beautiful when you hang it on a wall, something i did immediately! The One Connect box is also really nice and easy to hide somewhere in a cabinet. No more visible wires and easy access. All of this was more important to me than the 8K aspect. Though other models also have a one connect box (and SOME of the other features i mentioned.) I really fell in love with the design of this tv. After all, it's there on the wall/cabinet all the time, right in your face. So you want something nice to look at!

@@shonen84 I'm really really happy with mine! The one connect box is also pretty sweet to be honest! You can put it away somewhere (though i would recommend some ventilation because it does get pretty hot!) But it's nice to have pretty much everything you need for gaming feature wise! 🙂

@@DBLCreations we set up the box on the stand. It's out of sight anyway and we don't change sources much. The TV has been great, although I had to fiddle around quite a lot with the picture settings. For some reason, Samsung calibration is never pleasing to my eye. Panasonic and LG are more my preference in terms of color calibration. Gaming has been great, although there is some typical VA smearing present. You only notice it when comparing to an OLED. Haloing is also present, but never distractingly so (like in subtitles) and on the contrary, it happens in appropriate picture conditions (large bright highlights in a darker scene). Input lag is very good, pc desktop use is perfectly possible. I've played Overwatch on this with no issue. Overall I'm very happy, but I'm glad I didn't pay full retail price. No TV is perfect and neither is this one, but I'm very pleased!

Great review Brian. I already have the s95b 55 inch tv and it's hard to imagine the picture being any better. But, I'm thinking of going up to the 65 inch s95c. I've read THIS is the tv to get over a 65 inch qn900c 8k. I only watch tv in the evening in a dimly lit room. No gaming at all. For some reason I like the idea of having an 8k tv but is it really worth having in the 65 inch model? I just want the very best picture that I can get!

Actually, I disagree! The 65 in tv in this model is still a fantastic screen and the difference is quite noticeable from other 4k tvs! Don't necessarily need to go larger to see the high quality, as the 65 is the minimum screen size you'd want to benefit from the higher resolution.
@brandonsmith2299
@brandonsmith2299 7 ай бұрын
Yea and larger the screen the harder for the image to be as good. I know it’s got better but In the past the larger screens would show the defects more in image quality.
@trendyprojectors4743
@trendyprojectors4743 6 ай бұрын
Of course, the ideal screen size for you will depend on your individual preferences and viewing habits. If you sit close to the TV, a 65-inch screen may be sufficient to enjoy the benefits of 8K resolution. However, if you sit further away, a larger screen will be better for maximizing the viewing experience.
@sophonblock76
@sophonblock76 6 ай бұрын
I never understood the argument that you need a bigger screen with 8k, as the purpose of 8k and higher resolution is that you can sit close to the screen while still seeing perfect sharp details without seeing individual pixels. 8k is also applied in virtual reality headsets, and those screens are even smaller, but as its pixel density is high, it delivers high quality images even in VR.

I have an LG G1 brightness has never been an issue!!! colors always Great!!! how ever once you get over a 55" in 4k pixel density thing's like noticing individual Pixels start becoming clear..! if I start looking for another TV it will be one of these simply because I will only go above 55" if the TV is in 8k for now I am still spoiled with my Oled which Value has also gone up which tells you something

How's that upscaling for productivity work from the couch, say Google Docs and Google Slides? I have a narrow room and consider a disproportionately large TV for chilling by YT, series, the odd sim racing session and productivity, especially when there's a business guest. A curved monitor (also getting that, my laptop has been my largest screen for going on 20 years) is much less convenient for co-work I guess. Or, would I be running Google Slides directly in 8K from a powerful PC? I wonder what laptops manage that... I guess that would take a 15 meter HMDI cable to get around the room...

4k @ 120/144Hz is so smooth, it would make one want 8k @ 120/144Hz once it is here. Wish next gen HDMI/DP/TB was already here. P.S. I'm a PC user/content creator/gamer, so for me 8k is great and immersive. Currently use S95B.

Definitely don't care about Dolby Vision . I find it distracting on dimmer Tvs . On brighter Tvs it's not that necessary over 1500 nits. This TV tested in the 2000 to 2200 nits range. Good enough! 😁 We're actually getting the 800B which is even BRIGHTER 🔆

@@ginakerry2588 I have a 6 year old Samsung . Any tv from today the cheapest to the most expensive will b brighter than what I’ve got now and its brightness is just fine . I just want a newer tv a little bigger than my 82 . I sometimes c reflections in my 82 inch Samsung but again I think any new tv will b better . The Samsung has 8K which gives you future proof but the Sony I hear people say looks good and even better in some cases I think due to the processor even having fewer local dimming Zones . Just wanted feedback from people that have seen them . I’ve only seen the Samsung .

I agree that 8K TVs are not yet a necessity for most people. HD is still the most common resolution for TV broadcasts and streaming services, and even 4K is not yet widely adopted. While 8K TVs offer superior picture quality, they are also much more expensive than their 4K counterparts.

Watch what I talk about in the video...8K upscaling matters from 4K if you are investing in a TV this size. 8K content will eventually get there, but with everything in 4K if you want a BIG big screen, you'll want an TV that has very good 8K upscaling for that 4K content.

Such a tired and boring question. If there is nothing to draw demand for something, i.e. no displays, then nobody will every request 8k content. This applied to EDTV, 720P, 1080P, 3D, and 4K. 720P and 1080P TVs enhanced SD content. 4K Displays greatly enhanced 720/1080P content. The same applies to 8K. The same concept also applies to routers. WhY bUy A nEw RoUtEr WiTh No CliEnTs? They're coming... Ditto 3G/4G/5G/5GUWB phones.
