Saw this at BB it’s really beautiful display you can see the refinement of the screen since it’s a mini LED and very bright as high as 4000 nits big drawback its very expensive for most people. One box and all wires are connected to it.

Thanks for the overview, this is probably the tv I will get this year since I keep tvs a long time, LEDs last longer than OLEDs and I need a tv that I don't have to worry about with kids.

Lot of reviewers seem to miss the one big reason for 8k. If you want large TV's (over 75") and not sacrifice PQ, 8k can give you a sharper picture compared to the same 4k TV. 85" 4k is around 52 PPI (pixels per inch) while the same sized 8k tv is 104 PPI. So a 8k 85" TV has a better PPI than a 43" 4K TV. They make great PC displays. There are drawbacks, it consumes more power, it will not be as bright in some areas as the 4k (you can see this with the Samsung QN95C vs QN900C), and its AI picture processing has to work on 33 million pixels verses 8 million on a 4k TV, so some picture processing will be faster with less latency on a 4k TV.

True, 8K is almost a requirement for a great looking 85in (or larger) TV, especially if you are sitting close up to it, but it does mean managing 33 million pixels!

Just bought the S95C in 65 inch. the reviews are of the charts and I'm sure I'll be very happy with it. I got an educators discount 0f 10% PLUS they gave me an additional 10% off. Two year interest fee payments too! Just had to do it. LOL

Thanks for the reply! Presently I have the S95b 55 inch Oled. Hard to imagine some of the content I watch being any better. BUT thinking of moving up to a 65 inch tv sitting at about 7 feet away. It would be the S95c or the qn900c at 65 inch. I'm sure the picture would be great on either one. Night time viewing only in dimly lit room. No gaming. For some reason I just like the thought of having an 8k tv. Any other thoughts? And thanks!

I had to make a very similar decision and it was between the 85in QN900C or 77in S95C OLED. I went with the OLED even though it was 4K vs 8K. I had a chance to take a good look at both of them and I don't regret going with the OLED. For me, the 8K alure just wasn't enough to get me to overlook the gorgeous OLED picture. Considering the environment that you use your TV in, OLED is probably ideal. QLED is better for bright, sunny environments where a brighter screen can punch through the reflections, etc. Either way, the pictures are excellent, I guess it's just what you prefer overall.

Ok, an update question. Now that the new 900d is available with the latest gen panel, should I just wait until there's big sale on it in the future, or just go with the 900c. 65 inch only. Or still s95c 65 inch? Just want a picture that I say WOW every time I turn it on. Thanks!
@gadgetguytech
@gadgetguytech Ай бұрын
That's a very good question. I've seen the 2024 900d at the upscaling is vasty better than what you get on the 2023 model. However, this isn't to say that the 2023 model doesn't look good, as it looks very good, but there is a significant improvement in making low-quality content look much better on an 8K panel, as well as smoothing out fast-travelling objects in sport, such as golf balls, hockey pucks, etc. Overall, waiting for the 2024 model just depends on how important these things are to you (and your budget). At the top end of picture quality, there really isn't a whole lot of difference between models but for the people who want the best possible picture, even the little things matter. If it were me, I'd go for the 2024 because the jump is significant enough, and I am a screen quality nut. Otherwise, the 2023 is absolutely decent in just about every way.

What's the native contrast? Is it RGB or BGR subpixel? Thank you
@gadgetguytech
@gadgetguytech Жыл бұрын
The provided specs don't go into that much detail. With contrast, all I can see is that Real Depth Enhancer Pro is supported, but no ratio figure. Samsung and other brands tend to shy away from providing these details nowadays - including the number of backlight zones, etc. Sub-pixel layout, shame we didn't look when we had the panel but we are reviewing it now for our website so I will check in with the reviewer. I suspect it's RGB.

Yes, true that 8K has been around for a while...and will probably be a while before 8K content is commonplace. I still think that having smaller pixels on a large screen is advantageous when it comes to smoothing out the image, as if you had 4K pixels, they'd be larger and nowhere to go in terms of image smoothing.

@gadgetguytech
@gadgetguytech 3 ай бұрын
Do you mean is an 8K TV like the 900C worth having at 65 inches? In my opinion, probably not. 4K is fine on a screen this size. You'll barely notice the extra resolution unless you sit VERY close to the screen. 8K is far better suited to 75in plus sizes.

Question...The 900C is at a good discount right now. Buy now or wait a year for the 900D with the updated processer when it will eventually go on sale at a discount?
@gadgetguytech
@gadgetguytech 3 ай бұрын
Good question. I think what it comes down to is how important the new AI upscaling tech is to you. I saw the 900D at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show and the new tech really is a whole lot better than then 900C. However, if you don't watch a lot of old-school SD content, then you'll be just fine on the 900C and can take advantage of the savings. I was impressed with the 900C - it's got a great picture, so you won't be missing out on much, however the 900D is better at cleaning up poor-quality footage, and also has better features for sport mode that make fast moving objects like tennis balls clearer (using AI now). Thanks for writing in and watching the video!

@gadgetguytech
@gadgetguytech Жыл бұрын
True, 8K is limited by the current bandwidth of the HDMI 2.1 connector so the main way you'd get a full 8K signal on your screen is via Wi-Fi 6. There aren't many peripherals that you can connect to your TV that support 8K right now. Maybe the next generation of gaming consoles...but these won't be out for years.

It might just be the playback via KZfaq - it was pretty smooth when we were using it. It will go up to 144Hz, so good for fast motion objects, games, etc, plus it has VRR to smooth things out. Always a bit tricky to show a TV screen through KZfaq and the monitor that you might be viewing it on!

Ah, I see what you mean! If you have no where to put the One Connect Box, especially when wall mounting, it's a pain. You can buy an extra long cable as an option and place the box far away, but this probably isn't ideal. I recall that there may still be a few ports on the back of some Samsung TVs so you can plug in a few things directly, but it's not great if the TV won't work at all without the box at all, giving you no other options!
