Thank you again!! I was able to get the tape to where it is only covering maybe 3 pins.. I was not very exact with it at the end.. the color is a little washed out on the 1 side but it is much better than throwing it in the trash!! Thank you again!!

Thanks a lot for this video I have the exact same television with same issue. I Try to place the type exactly as you explain it. I was able to see picture in a position with horizontal lines at the bottom. I tried to improve it and now I can't get picture again. Any other suggestion to get the picture. Thanks

Thank you so much for such a great video! This worked for me but mine was the bottom (shorter) ribbon.

this also works on mu6300 mu6290 and ku6500 ks8000 50" and 55" for all three models it's the shorter ribbin for the rigth side of the screen you need cover pins starting from from rigth to left of the ribbin cover pins 13-21 ( you can adjustpin , 13 to pin 14, and pin 20 to pin 21 ) this should work on 2017 models and up it also depend on how bad the panel is I repaired 27 out of 30 TV's this way this should work on any model also if the TV is turn it's self on and off cover pins 1 only on the shorter ribbin ( this works for tv's with flickering or dark blue screens and for tv's that reboots or turn on and off )

so the tape should cover from pin 17 to 28 ?

OK so I have a wild issue with this. So I did this tape fix. It's the exact same TV. Most of the screen looks good but the left side looks dull, just like yours at the end of the video. But what I noticed is, on Netflix, most of the movies are the same way. Left side looks dull, right side looks good. BUT..... certain movies I put on through Netflix look perfect! Almost like the color corrects itself. I start the movie, and the whole movie looks amazing. But when I back out and go to scroll through a different movie on Netflix, we're back to the dull colors. I can go through 15 movies and it's the same way. Then all of a sudden I pick another movie, and the colors itself and they looked great. Why on earth would it do this? At first I thought I was picking 4K movies and it was doing that. But not all 4K movies look great. Some turn out perfect, and then we're back to the dull picture on other movies. Very strange..

Hey thanks- I used this method to fix my samsung TV. UN50TU8000FXZA. Only one ribbon cable on it and it was nowhere near pin 12, more like near the center of the ribbon cable. Ended up being just a pin or two I covered up and now I have like a single row of horizontal pixels that don't work. Its barely noticeable, and hey, the TV turns on again. Great video. I have same kind of problem after fixing with tape, RED COLOR is missing from half of TV, how i remember some people are installing a tiny wire from damaged pin to actual point and fixing color problem like this way. Did you heard about it?

DJ, I got ahold of the same TV, went through your steps. The fix worked, except I can’t get the “reds” right, and it’s driving me nuts. Would replacing the the display panel boards on the bottom provide a permanent fix? I’d love to be able to use the TV, but when your favorite NFL team’s colors are Red, this just isn’t cutting it for me. Thanks for all the info you’ve shared.

Hay Dj Johnson there is a fix to get back all of the color if you cover pins 9-12 and leave pins 13-14 uncovered and cover pins 15-20 and leave pins 21-23 uncovered and cover pins 24-25 covered ( on the bigger or longer ribbon that should bring back all of your color I have a photo of what the ribbon would look like and if you don't what to count pin if you take the photo and over lay that with your ribon you can match the tape from the photo to your ribon and tape off your ribbon if that dose not work try moving the tape on pins 15-20 and pins 24-25 over left one or rigth one pin this worked for me and i got full color back this works for tv's 60" and above for tv's from 50-55" see my comments above

Hey DJ, I tried that tape method but it did not work for me what instead happens after blocking different groups on the connector I heard about 5 or 6 pops and I had smelled like burning metal so I disconnected the power cable and Waited a few minutes I didn't see any physical damage from the power board or main but when I plug the TV Back in The TV was running like normal but now I have a thick black line that runs vertically down the screen. Can I replace any of those display panel pieces on the on the panel board board or or do I just have to go away with the panel And lose the TV entirely?

Hello i have the same problem with my 58" samsung. I did your method and it stopped the on and off issue and has sound but still no picture. Do you have any thoughts on what i could do next?

What does it mean if you put the tape on, but you still have the same issue with the tv just turning on anof off again? Would it be a ribbon or main board issue?

I’ve tried it on my Samsung 50tu7000 the power stays on with blue screen and nothing to show can you please help thank you.

Spent 3 hrs following the whole process step by the TV back, but had the off colors tried different combinations of the pins but in the end took a shot in the dark Disconnected the other end of the same cable blew it off stuck it back in and the TV was back to normal no tape no nothing . So give that a try before you go all out.

I used the tape and I’m still getting sound but no picture. LEDs are one as if one of the ribbon cables are disconnected.

R1D1CUL3 covering the pins on the ribbens from the main borad to the display panel should not caused any to pop or burm the only thing you are doing is blocking signals to the panel did you make sure setted the ribbens al the way to the line on the ribben if you can tell me what you did i may or may not be able to help you
