As a Retired cop I somewhat agree with their policy. My city is directly North of the Bronx and was a crime nightmare. In the early 2000s our city enacted a close at midnight laws. It gave people no place to pretend to be shopping at hang at and easier to identify who was out there committing crime or selling drugs. Our call volume(shootings,fights, etc) dropped by 90% and The idea is sound but they’re half assing it. You’ve got to close everyone but gas stations and only they can have the pumps on nothing else

Me too, I used to work in a hospital (retired thank goodness) and after midnight was very busy at times, especially the weekends. Like the saying goes: the only people out after midnight are cops and criminals. If you want to continue partying, buy your liquor or whatever and do it at home after midnight. You have no business out on the street that late.

ATTENTION: California business owners and their employees are legally allowed to possess a loaded and concealed firearm while working on company property without any kind of permit being required as per California Penal Code Sections 25605(a) and 26035... These laws also cover your home as well as other privately owned properties.

what happens if the business doesn't close down at midnight, will they get arrested while drugs and stolen goods are sold on the sidewalk outside their doors? or will they just get fined for breaking a wetoddid program (is it even an ordinance?), again as the criminals congregate on the public walkways outside? or just lose their license altogether?

When I put in the address I saw - 1100 Market st. - Google gave me listings plus a map, showing the Tenderloin name. When I clicked on the map to make it full size and get oriented, the name Tenderloin disappeared. It shows Little Saigon and Lower Nob Hill, but they're censoring the name Tenderloin. As they move their people out of downtown SF. Woke hypocrites.
