Roasting at home is still so hard. The roaster you already have is good but requires a lot of precision and understanding of when the cracks happens and how to properly cool it down before the next cracking. I have seen your roasting videos and I have no idea how you consistently roast so perfectly. Kudos to you! The sandbox smart roaster looks good but I would prefer something that has more mechanical dials to control various things to choose the roasting method and stuff than completely relying on the app. Apps make me nervous for some reason. I don't trust them and having no manual override bothers me. Thank you for the quick view!

The Sandbox is nice. But I’d rather use the Bullet R1. Much more control over the roasts and you can roast manually without the app too.

I just arrived in Japan a few weeks ago for work. I've found that everywhere I went roasts their coffee so black it's basically burnt, even in speciality roasters. Another thing is espresso drinks are really rare! Coming from Melbourne, I really miss the coffee I had before Japan :( Question for Ryoya: have you tried coffee from around the world? How have do you find them in comparison to Japanese coffee? And am I just unlucky with the coffees I've found or is this the case across Japan?

サンドボックス、どんなもんかと気にしてましたけど、かなり大きいですね結局別の焙煎機買いましたが実物見ずにサンドボックス買ってたら置き場所に困ってたかも笑

手動でグルグル回すのはもう終わりなんでしょうか？なんだか電子レンジみたいですねぇ(*´ω｀*)髪型変わっててビックリｗ言われてた通り結構なサイズ感ですけど便利っちゃ便利ですねw中が見えるのはバッチグーですｗ

I'm Caribbean and I grew up watching coffee roasting in the open flame so technology like this is intimidating 😅😊 but thanks for showing this.

So I liked everything for 5 1/2 months - except the VIP subscription for a monthly charge, which won't give you the details of the roast. Then it stopped working. I sent it for repair to the US shop they recommended. They advertise 1 year warranty. The shop said they repaired it and sent it back after 1 month. It's STILL not working - heating elements never turn on, just like when I sent it out to them. Sandbox in Taiwan simply told me, "Your roaster should be working" and refuse to do anything more about it, even after I sent them the video they requested. I spent $2500 on this POS. I've also spent over 5 years building a micro-roaster business that is now defunct without a roaster. It's up to you if you want to buy it, but at least you are warned!!!
