Using the Jooltool X system, ANIE shows how to use 3M Radial Brushes on aluminum parts. These are the perfect alternative to wire brushes for sanding, cleaning up corrosion & oxidation. The finer grades get a super polish, all without using compound!
She then finishes off with a Cotton Buffing wheel with JOOLTOOL Compound for the ultimate luster!
Brushes are 3 inches in diameter and have 6 plys (layers).

how hot will the metal get? I'm looking for a better way to polish die cast aluminum boxes. I'm currently using a belt sander to get the pits out and then wet sanding by hand to 400 grit which takes forever. would these discs be suitable for a box that's about 5" x 4" x 1" ?

+Paul Atherton yes but you'd want to change up the buffing steps a little bit. You could start with the black colored buffing compound, then brown, then white. Its a similar concept to moving up to finer grits, but with buffing compound. If you spend more time on the buffer then she does, you should have a great mirror finish without any scratches.

Hate to be that guy but please don't try polishing your bike parts by beginning with such a coarse grit, like 60. If anything the most coarse grit you should begin with is 220, and some even start with 400 or 600. End with 1,000 grit (some say 2,000) and finish with buffing compound.

Still not a mirror finish though. There's a lengthy process to achieving that involving stepping up through progressively finer grit sand paper until finally using a polishing wheel with polishing compound. A process that's been around for a very long time. This just seems like a cheap marketing gimmick that gives half the result that putting in less than half the work achieves. Can't just jump straight to polishing compound on a felt wheel for a mirror finish. Also no need to jump down the guy's throat for pointing out the obvious.

Time and time again I am baffled by what some people consider "mirror shine". How can people who work in the business have such low standards and such poor attention to detail? Sorry to be critical, but this is far from mirror finished. If I ordered parts to be mirror finished, and got this back, I'd return them without any hesitation and ask for my money back. I achieve a perfect mirror finish on prototypes purely by hand, no machines, and I mean MIRROR, meaning there's not even a micro scratch on it visible. This is not even perfectly glossy, let alone mirror finish. You can't get a mirror finish unless you sand the surface first with several levels of paper granulation and make the surface perfectly flat and even first, otherwise the reflection will be distorted and therefore not a MIRROR finish. Only when the surface is perfectly level can you can go ahead and start polishing. This is all pitted and uneven. Not to mention that through overly aggressive approach the geometry of the part was changed. The edges were softened, flat surfaces curved, etc.
