During Black History Month, we invite you to learn about the the African American Funeral Program Digital Collection.
Since the summer of 2005, the Texana Genealogy Department at the San Antonio Public Library's Central Library has been collecting African American funeral programs from the Bexar County area. Over the years the collection has grown to become one of the largest of its kind in the country. In 2012, the Library partnered with the University of North Texas’ Portal of Texas History to digitize this collection and make it available online.
