I found another recipe that is almost exactly like this one. But one big difference, it added 1 Tbls Baking Powder. And that helps with the denseness. And the beat it for 7 min. It’s pretty good 😁

For left over or dried out gluten free bread, I dice it up real small and soak it in a little milk to use in my meat loaf. Or… I cut it into cubes and dry it out in the oven, then I pulse it in a food processor to make my own bread crumbs and keep it in the freezer. It works very well.

I found this recipe online and it came out so good! (I don't have a stand mixer, to compensate for mixing by hand I added two tablespoons of room-temperature water with the eggs.) This is the first gluten-free bread recipe to turn out so well, the only issue I had was that the 8x4.5 pan was too small, otherwise, yummmm!

Awesome video. I like the way you explain step-by-step. I have made King Arthur GF yeast Bread (I use active dry yeast and do proof it first). The recipe comes out very good. Great preso! Canyon white is $6 (here in Fl); the mixed grain is $10 (same weight)! Really appreciated your revisiting the bread several days later ... really helpful. The biggest problem I've had has been ... height ... how high the loaf stands. My attempts using K Arthur and Red Mill have been 2"-3" high, and not enough to make a reasonably good sandwich. I'll be trying your/K Arthurs' recipe this weekend.

I still want to try this recipe but I’m wondering if pysillium husk would help with texture. I tried it in another recipe with 5 ingredients and the bread was amazing in taste and texture! But it called for almond flour. I have a big bag of the KA GF cup for cup so I’d like to use that with psyllium husk and see if I can get a soft gf sandwich bread. Any thoughts on what to take out to use psyllium husk?
@SavorySaver
@SavorySaver 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Laura, That is a great question that I'm not sure of the answer. Psyllium husk typically is used in place of xanthan gum but sometimes in addition to it being used. You may be able to add a little bit to the recipe to improve the texture, even though KA GF cup for cup has xanthan in it, but it would be a total experiment. Check out my recent bagel recipe that uses the KA cup for cup if you haven't already. They came out pretty good in taste and texture

Thanks for the honest review. It's also been my experience in the past 8 years that untoasted GF bread tastes horrible and OK when toasted. I also like(d) Canyon Mountain bread the best of all the commercial GF breads out there but they recently changed their recipe and packaging and the new version is AWFUL, dense and heavy and the texture is horrible - hence why I'm looking for recipes to make my own. No luck so far as most of them are inedible. Some genius needs to invent a new flour or something to make bread edible again.

I have been GF for at least 40 years before gluten was a word. As a young child, I realized that bread made me sick, cakes made me sick, pastries made me sick. Back then, I was diagnosed with a lazy bowel. Basically it severely plugs up the works. Sometimes I sneak in something with gluten, and I’m warped back to being a child in pain and fatigued, and bloated. In the early 90’s I tried GF bread for the first time, and swore I would never eat it again. I could have built a house with those gf breads. About 25 years ago I found out that sourdough bread, made from wild yeasts, is more digestibly tolerable for people with gluten sensitivities. I was so excited that I could eat bread. Learned to make sourdough bread….. I can’t eat it. It does the same to me as any gluten based food. So, I thought if i proofed the dough for 24 hours if it would help…. No. I am not excited about your gf bread. It reminds me of the early 90’s. I am literally so sad that I can’t eat bread, and there is no substitute. But, I am experienced in baking, maybe… I could come up with my own recipe, that isn’t dense or dry and GF, and is great for sandwiches or toasted.

yes, that definitely can happen sometimes. Instant yeast is a bit more resistant though. A lot of times I like to make sure I mix the dry ingredients well except for the salt and then add the salt and whisk again. It helps disperse all the yeast before adding the salt. Thank you so much for watching and sharing Joann!

So this recipe contains milk, butter, eggs and sugar? This is cake and not bread.

I have to be egg free. Not a choice, Eggs upset tummy worse than gluten. I am Celiac. Have no choices here! Any great Egg free/ Gluten free Recipes?

Sorry to hear about the eggs. Lavonne. I'm sure I have a few on the channel or blog that are both Egg and Gluten free but I can't think of any to refer you to at the moment. I just checked the bread recipe I'm filming today and it is egg and gluten free. I'm hoping to have that posted next week so be on the lookout for that one. Thank you for mentioning your egg free dietary need. It helps to remind me to mention other allergens while filming my videos to help viewers like you. thank you so much for watching!

@@lavonnehensley9993 I have a video for a microwave english muffin recipe that I tried out. It was ok but I'm sure there are better ones around. Making some good ones are definitely something I'd like to test out.

@@SavorySaver , I got rid of the microwave , only use the big oven or a toaster oven. Took awhile. but no longer miss the microwave. I was just going to check on how yeast is for people with all the weird issues that I have. Thank you

Its ridiculous to spend twice or even more for a premix, when you can just mix your own ingredients, what makes bread won't make biscuits...gods I wish you tube let you block useless vids.
