Gorgeous wood,wish I could smell it

Awesome big log on the mill. I roll big logs the same way. I found some 2 inch steel tubing that fits over the stops that are about 3 feet long and allows me to roll these behemoths much faster and much safer. There is no chance of the log rolling over the stops

When sawing large logs and taking heavy slabs use plastic felling wedges I like oregon ones because they are long and easier to start but after you enter the log with the blade and get a few inches in start driving the wedges in your cut and do one on each side about every 4-6ft along your cut and you'll never stick a band and you'll always be able to back out of a cut and it keeps the blade cooler by taking the weight of the slab off the band I've been doing large logs for years with wedges works great. I've since moved away from the bandsaw because they never go big enough I now have a Meadows circlur mill with a top saw allows me to cut as big as I can fit in my building
