On one hand, throwing out the packaged food was super weird and paranoid, but on the other I worked for a home improvement store and, one day, a lady came in to buy snake repellent. Normal enough, until she asked us to cut the label off the bottle because it had a picture of a snake on it. She returned it the next day because the seal on it had been broken and she was convinced that it was possible a snake crawled into the jug of snake repellent and was hiding in there. So Pat's not as weird as he could be.

Pat is just amazing. A game's launch is late by some hours during the fucking night, so he spends multiple hours angrily pestering Sony for answers for this heinous crime and demanding compensation. He sees a goddamn tiny beetle on his bed, and instantly imprisons it so he can scientifically analyze the level and severity of the alien infestation that now plagues his house. This man would spontaneously combust from anxiety and rage if you made him live on, say, a farm (or any rural area). And yet I love him.

I just want to hug pat all the time. just rock him back and forth on my lap, saying it's fine.

I can't call Pat crazy because I know for a fact that I have had moments somewhat similar to that bug moment. I didn't throw out all my food or use all the cleaning supplies, but I did worry about how many bugs were in my room.

I've been waiting for this for a long time

It's okay, Pat. We all wig out sometimes over some shit or another, sometimes we get used to it, other times not so much. Like, I've had so many cockroaches get in from like the garage, windows, etc. and crawl on me while I'm sitting at the computer that it's almost like, "Okay, yeah, can you fuck off before I charge you rent?", but I bite into the smallest bit of cartilage in like chicken soup or something and my trust in all foods is shook for way longer than reasonable. Can't stand the texture of biting into cartilage, it gets under my skin.

I would FREAK OUT about insects anywhere near me or on my bed. AND IT HAS HAPPENED a lot and can't even sleep AT ALL.

There was a fly in my house once and just left it alone a few days later I saw maggots crawling out of my trash can... I pretty much pulled a Pat and spent 2 hours cleaning my floor and looking all over my kitchen for more of those lil shits. Never again will I let a fly live in my home again.

I remember back when I lived in my dorm in college for sophomore year, I had to help one of my roommates (the room I was in could house 3 people) deal with a centipede that kept crawling underneath his desk. The fact that I was the only one who was NOT freaked out about dealing with the centipede in my entire floor was kinda hilarious to me.

Man...I saw a centipede in my bathroom then bedroom once and I didn’t sleep until 1-2 in the morning because I was worried it would wind up in my bed. I went fucking nuts
