Saul Craven is a great name. Especially because every time I hear it, it makes me want to say "That's Saul Craven!" like he's a specific Disney channel character.

I like that they framed Richard's reactions from his own perspective. Of course he would blame Nick, a guy he barely knows ,instead of his sister, who would make an unholy devil bargain for his life. That's just familial love.

If you're going to base your show around the concept of a vampire cop, you definitely need to go all in with all the supernatural stuff. I am really digging the smaller, daily videos. Ok but what if we had media where vamping someone actually goes well for once? Wouldn't that be cool? Like messaging about vampires makes me want to become a vampire now....😕 When shows do episodes like this, it makes me wonder about some of the so called "good" guys that want to help, but haven't really experienced hardship in their life. Nick's character comes off as someone who not only experienced bad things, but those bad things helped iinform his resolve to want to be a good person, and thus, he has a strong foundation for wanting to do good things. Where as others had enough privilege, in a sense, that their "goodness" could be lost because of fantasy thinking instead of learned humanity. I know life is a lot more complex than that, but these shows often lack the depth necessary to explore the subject

It's fun watching these episode synopses and seeing if Forever Knight syncs up with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff Angel.

I gotta say, I have never seen Forever Knight and generally don’t have much nostalgia for this era of TV. Nevertheless I am really enjoying these videos. Keep ‘em coming and I’ll gorble ‘em up.

The Castlevania animated series (caveat, fuck Warren Ellis, and the sequel series, Nocturne, is miles better without him and based as fuck), still has my favorite explanation for why vampires fear, specifically the cross. They have hyper evolved vision for predating in the dark, so put a piece of hard geometry in their face and it fucks with their brain, inducing panic. This is also a fun, subtle way to show which vampires aren't very smart or intuitive to understand this. Also, watch Castlevania: Nocturne. You don't need to watch the original series to enjoy it, it's absolutely gorgeous, and it quite literally whips.

This episode is one of the rougher ones especially when it comes to Natalie. Her stubbornness is totally egregious and obscene. The big takeaway in this episode is Nick's goodness and kindness. He was so against making a new vamp and so doubted it was the right thing to do to change her brother but did it anyway because he loves Natalie so much. It's very believable that Nick feels guilty for going against his better judgement. This is the only episode where I really disliked Natalie A LOT. So much for the cool-headed/in control scientist that she claims she is. She doesn't even apologize to Nick by the end which made me like her even less. She's just giving Nick all these "I know I've been a bad little girl" looks across a table in his kitchen. Nick should've just asked her to leave.

This is a really weird episode. The plot feels like a wacky goof em ups farce, like an episode of Seinfeld that somehow involves vampirism as the inciting incident.

Started watching this series due to your videos and have really enjoyed it so far. I almost wish you could have gotten something like this going for Freddy's Nightmares, but this oddly enough is a much better show. I almost had to give this ep a hard pass from Natalie being such a dumb decision bully at the beginning, but stuck it out after watching your summary, so thanks now I know what a vampire leper woman from the past is truly capable of.

I have mixed feelings about people telling kids their dead parent is "in heaven" or "with God". Yes, I know it's a lie with good intentions (i.e. the pill in a spoonful of icecream treatment), but it's also kinda patronizing; assuming kids are too fragile and need to be sheltered from harsh realities. It ain't good in the long run. People need to learn to cope with loss in a healthy way.
