#LaBamba #RitchieValens #HDClips #MovieScenes
Now on Disc and Digital: www.sonypictur...
The life of rock & roll legend Richie Valens bursts across the screen in this celebrated, music-filled movie with star-making performances by Lou Diamond Phillips as Richie and Esai Morales as his half-brother, Bob. LA BAMBA depicts the 17-year-old Mexican-American's rocket rise to fame, from field laborer to rock star with a string of hit singles and a date with destiny. Fueled by Valens' hit songs performed by the Grammy®-winning Los Lobos as well as classic '50s tunes, LA BAMBA recreates the thrilling early days of rock and pays homage to the enduring legacy of a remarkable talent whose music crossed all borders.

Yeah, Bob was no saint and he as well as far too many others knew it for him to be able to rewrite history . He also was indeed older, wiser and losing Ritchie clearly affected him so deeply that it changed him forever. I think he did feel an obligation to both himself and Ritchie's memory to be open and honest about who he had been at that time and how it affected their relationship as brothers. He really showed his growth as a person when he made a point of totally owning up to it and saying " was " to show he both accepted personal responsibility and wasn't that person anymore.

Well that's what really happened in the case Buddy Holly's wife and mother. His wife, who was pregnant at the time, found when it announced on TV. The psychological stress causing a miscarriage. While his mother, who I believe also found out while watching TV screamed in horror and collapsed. I don't know how the families of Valens and Richardson reacted. But the aftermath of this resulted in a public policy that the families would be notified before the names are released publicly.

My momma rest in peace loved Richie music very much. The day after he passed away my momma wrote a poem. She stood up in front her class and she read it in front of all students in her class. Before of my mama passing away in 2011 she told me that she had envelope with poem in it and she asked me to read it at her funeral. Here is poem that my momma read about Richie. It is titled. Until We Meet Again. Those special memories of you Will always bring a smile. If only I could have you back for just a little while. Then we could sit and talk again, just like we used to do. You always meant so very much and always will too. The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain, But you’re forever in my heart until we meet again. Every student her class came up and gave her hug.

Bob suffered rejection, neglection and the negative effects of favoritism from his mother and who he thought was his father, that is what messed him up and started a cycle of bad behaviour which led to more rejection. It seemed that he came clean later and became a stable family man taking care of his relatives contineously. So of course he also loved his brother, but that was also the one was getting favored. Parents who do this are responsible though.

When I watched this movie for the first time I was a kid and felt the movie blindsided me with Richie's death (I knew nothing of Ritchie Valens at the time). When I lost my sweet sister last year in a tragic car crash, I understood life that blindsides you with that kind of despair. I now understand the pain Bob is going through at the end. Something as simple as a stranger's smile is enough to set you off, because "how can you possibly smile when a 29-year-old mother of three can die in a car crash that wasn't her fault?" You just want to cry out to the heavens in a primal scream from deep within your soul. Beautiful movie.
