@@rdgloveshouse what they mean is when you're rambling on about how broken you are and how you're a mistake and wondering if you're the problem. This is true, saying that to someone who is confessing to you that they have a mental illness could be really hurtful, though if you say it to someone who thinks they’re going insane, it could be good to say it, as it’ll remind them that they are fine, and not going insane.

Okay so, I am not trying to make light or make fun of Schizophrenia. It is a condition that should never ever be made fun of. So this story isn't me trying to be funny or trying to make fun of the condition, it's just something that happened to me. Anyway, when I was younger I was convinced I had Schizophrenia. I didn't. I would talk to myself in my head. I was a stupid kid doing stupid things so when I told my teachers and parents about how I self-diagnosed myself with Schisoprehnia, they were not surprised in the slightest. I was told that talking to yourself was a normal thing and that I had nothing to worry about. So, yeah. That's my story. Not really interesting or fun, just wanted to comment. Also, Thank you Mr. Demon I appreciate it when you make videos that help aware others! Hope yall have an amazing day! :))

I have always felt like an anomaly because no one explained adhd to me, and I thought it was just running around and not paying attention, so I was able to pay attention sometimes, my memory is really weird and stuff so I felt really abnormal. I guess I was searching for reasons to be like I am, because I just wanted to be "normal". I know I make it sound like I was in constant emotional pain or something, but it was mostly subconscious.

Same? But like. I think I probably should have worried about the people I see that _aren’t there_ earlier than this. And I mean, that could be a number of things for me, not just schizophrenia, so. I just thought it was originally like, the monsters you see in the dark as a kid, but I know what they look like now, and I’m older now, AND I don’t sleep in the dark. But I usually only see them when I’m alone in a room and it’s quiet, and I can just feel them and it feels like they’re everywhere, it is very uncomfortable. Maybe I should get that checked out.

I was like this months ago. I’m surprised I hadn’t had a psychotic break big enough to hospitalize me yet because I’ve for sure broken reality so many times. If you are worried it’s worth getting evaluated. May be expensive but I’ve uncovered so many things that make so much sense about myself. I totally get not being scared. Half the time the voices I hear are like friends to me until the delusions his or the paranoia hits then the hallucinations are terrifying. And the homicidal ideation. That’s always fucking terrifying but yeah. Please see someone if you believe you have it because this illness gets worse with time but can be managed

The first tiktok was really cool and I appreciate it a lot! It’s hard to find resources for “scary” mental illness. My therapist recently told us he thinks someone in our system may have NPD, and it’s near impossible to find support for something like that, since if you google it all that comes up is stuff about people who were abused by someone they think may have NPD (whether that person was actually diagnosed or not). There’s no resources to actually help people with that condition.

Schizophrenia and related disorders can be managed with the right support, psychiatric help and medication. It still is present but some patients learn to handle their symptoms and keep it under control. It's not curable, but it is treatable. Schizophrenia isn't just 'in your head', it's a physical illness that is tied to known genes. It leads to very clear, often severe changes to how a brain functions, and if a person suffering from it experiences psychosis enough times and goes without treatment for long enough, their brain can become so damaged that they can remain in psychosis and not respond to medication, perhaps permanently. Just witnessing someone you care about suffer from true, severe schizophrenia is one of the most heartbreaking things, it is an incredibly cruel illness that seeks to destroy a person and make them suffer in the most unfathomable ways. Even outside of psychosis, when they're 'normal', a large number of schizophrenics will feel no joy or positive emotions, even from things they used to love. I wish with all my heart that one day we can find a better treatment, maybe even a real cure.

Just got 302'd a few months ago and diagnosed with schizoaffective bipolar subtype. I was always told it was my internal monologue, or an overactive imagination, or even a trauma response like dissociation. In reality I developed hallucinations and delusions so severe I was convinced a lawyer was communicating with me through a Gameboy and a water pitcher to whisk me away to Canada and escape the feds. It's a terrifying experience but I'm lucky I can find humor in it and know I'm not alone.

This is a reminder that you can hallucinate and have psychotic episodes due to other things than schizophrenia. I hallucinate due to dissociation that was cause by trauma. Stress and trauma can also cause full psychotic episodes. I have had those as well. Please dont self diagnose based off of an 8 minute compilation! If you think you have it do research on it (real research, like going through the dsm) This is also a reminder that you are real, what you are seeing/ hearing is not, and you are safe.

I wasn't diagnosed with shizophrenia but bipolar disorder when at the hospital. I was severly freaking out, shadows were turning into cats, stairs, rats, jet planes, cartoon characters... it was like a dream that I couldn't escape from, and my brain was suffering from some brain inflammation too. But they still had just diagnosed me with bipolar and psychosis. I am not really sure if those hallucinations are coming back, but so far, not. This was also months ago, maybe July or August? I've had a few episodes from moving to a new city and I'm afraid that it will happen again. I'm also autistic and even though I am high functioning, I do present symptoms more often when I'm stressed out. Sometimes I don't speak and then blurt out my words on accident. It's hard for me to keep relationships with new people because of my mental illness, which I fear there's also more?? Because I switched personalities while going to the hospital one time in the summer. I try to talk to the voices, they say they can't switch because of the medications, but I need them to survive and not keep hearing intrusive thoughts. I'm glad that I'm able to find community though.

Who else has had a relative with a history of severe schizophrenic episodes (correct me if this isn't what it's called, I'm not schizophrenic but I am trying to educate myself on the topic and my mental health is a whole other thing). I have an uncle who lost it after his dad passed away. He stopped taking his medication and ate NOTHING. His family was in danger because his psychosis episodes were so bad. His wife tried her best but they ended up having to call up a mental health service to take care of him and they moved to another relative's house. He would accuse other relatives for his dad's passing away and he even turned up to a couple houses with a pan. At that time, ofc I was confused. I was around 10 years old and he called my dad threatening to hurt him. Now that I'm older and he's doing much better now, I realized that he must've been so distressed at that time and it hurts me knowing that he had to stay seperated from his family. He's a really nice fella and I hope he stays happy and healthy for the rest of his life

So I don’t have schizophrenia but I do have this weird paranoia, sometimes I feel like my mom can read my mind, like I’m going to go deaf out of no where or like the building I’m in is going to collapse. The first one is most common when I’m in the car with her, the second usually happens when I’m listening to music with headphones in and the third mostly happens when I’m standing in a hallway or threshold to a door. No idea what it means but it’s usually easy to fix so I don’t worry about it.

I was going though the prodome harcore at work, mood swings, acting out aggressively and sexually, everyone mocked me and talked about me as if it is a soap opera, which stressed me out even more andmade me act out more, but then they said I am overly sensitive etc. I got better and people assumed I was fake since I was acting so normal. Then I got heavily into religious believes I thought I was possessed by a demon and I prayed. I think people thought I died and now they act scared around me. Anyway started Halluzinating a few days ago, the prodome was more fun… now I just feel braindead, got tinnitus, vision is messed up, and I got exams in a week, can‘t even remember my schoolwork or think straight. I would be very smart but this psychotic episode knocks me out, feels like my brain is mush, and I‘m not on medication, hope it doesn‘t get worse.

I still can’t accept I have schizophrenia, Because it would mean I would be the first in our family, and my family is healthy in every way, it’s just unfair that it’s only me. I’ve been struggling to catch up with my older siblings and younger siblings because they’re smart, unlike me. Now I get to have this as well? It’s like a slap in the face finding it out, it’s unfair. Very unfair.

(I AM NOT TRYING TO MAKE FUN OF SCHIZOPHRENIA OR SELF DIAGNOSE MYSELF I NEVER THOUGHT I HAD IT)My parents thought I had schizophrenia cause I would talk to myself and would feel like people were alawys watching me even when I was alone my parents would ask me “are you Schitzo?” Or “why are you talking to yourself?” And I would feel like the government was everywhere or someone/something was alawys after me. I would hate to change in large spaces and would only be in smaller spaces That could only fit 1-2 people. When I was younger I would also hear voices in my head that would yell at me and would wake me up when I slept it was really weird and it constantly happened so when I got a little older I questioned if I had schizophrenia (I don’t think I do ,I do still talk to myself and sometimes hear these voices and they’ll wake me up and (occasionally see things) but not a lot.very rarely I don’t think I have schizophrenia now but thank you for coming to my weird Ted talk

As someone who has childhood schizophrenia its nice to see people posting positive outlooks on the condition even if its hard we try our best to function. I get asked allot "so you see and hear things?" yes but thats not the only symptoms associated with the condition i wish people knew more we are not just psychopaths or killers or crazy loony people we are just humans like everyone else but sometimes we have a hard time because of our condition.I have panic attacks when i am overwhelmed in public,i also see floating shapes allot like after you look at a lightbulb or the sun and start blinking and see shapes ya thats what i see allot. But sometimes i get startled because someone ran at me full speed someone who was not there or i woke up in the middle of the night and see a smiling man sitting in my bed inches from me scared me half to death.Just thought i'd share i hope everyone is doing well.Having a mental illness is not fun it only gets worse with age and sometimes its traumatizing wish people (kids) would stop faking disorders.

I'm going to see him this summer he's like my little brother he's a year younger than me and I want him to know he's enough.

TW: suicidal thoughts, negativity, brief self harm mention Would “I deserve death because I bring harm to the world by existing, I’m a bad luck charm for reality and things will start to fall apart both literally and metaphorically the longer I’m alive” count as a delusion? It’s a recurring idea for me and if I’m doing well I can dismiss it fairly easily but under stress I can’t (which leads to breakdowns, s/h, etc.)

Technically yes, since most suicidal thoughts are delusions. In fact, depression & intrusive thoughts cause a lot of delusions.

I have 2 things to say 1. Dear Schizophrenic people, The fact tht you are making it through life with this is soooooo cool. You guys are amazingly strong! You are awesome! You are your struggles are ✨ *_VALID_* ✨. If anybody says otherwise, tell me and I will personally lock them up in my basement. Remember tht you are loved. When you feel like nobody loves you, remember tht God does and I do too! May God bless you all, Grace (Jesus's fav enby) 2. What are your guy's opinions on neo/nounself pronouns? Do you think they are valid? Do you think they should become accepted by society? I'm asking this question cuz I'm seeing an uptick of people using them.

I been diagnosed with Schizophrenia since the age of 13 around there. And I always see black shadows a tall man with glowing eyes, even animals. For me it get worse when it's night time. I think that demons or some sort of devil is after me. I'll see the tall man or animals and I'll hear my name or even hear knocks or even music playing and im trying to find where the sounds are coming from until I realize its in my head. Im 21 almost 22 and I still go through this but my family and my amazing partner help me out with this so I won't feel so scared at nighy when it gets worse.

I have thought that I may have some type of mental illness because, once upon a time, I don’t know why, I started to hear my name coming from every single noise of my house, it started at night and I became a little bit (TOO MUCH) aware of my surroundings, I’m still very aware as always, but I don’t hear anything in my imagination anymore. But remembering it, that was bad, I felt like my head needed to rest but my own body won’t let it rest, it is so awful, I want all people with schizophrenia have a good treatment and a great life.

My mom had schizo. She was abusive, did drugs, was homicidal, suicidal, and more. She died 2 years ago from a drug overdose. I don't want pity. I'm here to say that this is real. If you need help, ask for it, please. I wish I had long ago. What's more, being a schizo doesn't mean that they're crazy and you should stay away from them. It's like saying you can't let a person with depression around sharp objects. Disorders don't define the person. If you do have schizo, my love and support reach out to you!

Ok i swear to god the boy with glasses who had schzophrenia when he was thirteen ...when i watched it i ligit started crying cause my schizophrenia started when i turned 13 like i could hear soooo many voices and they were so scary TW WARNING .....LIKE i heard voices of real people and multiple of them and they started talking to me in a rude way and after a month they started giving ,e death threats and ordering me to kill my family and myself and yeah i was 13 at the time , they with explicit details told me to commit suicide and to slice my neck and and to kill myself by stabing AND THE WORST PART OF ALL WAS THAT I THOUGHT THIS WAS A TEENAGER THING AND I SCOLDED MYSELF FOR BEING WEAK ..and and my parents were worse they NOTICED ME CRYIHG AND HAVING PANIC attacks but didn't do a THING. ....and now that im finally 16 i forced them to see a psychiatrist and he immediately realized i had schzophrenia but he didnt verbally said it and for months i told him again again about the symtoms and he said its nothing serious and now that i know that schzophrenia is a thing im soo pleased that im not alone..and I'll hopefully get the doctor to confess that he knew i had schzophrenia. ..also i found out about it by looking at my medicine and whats in it... Sooo soorrryy to rant out all of this here i dont know if im even gonna remember this ..im exhausted at the moment

when you are first diagnosed with schizophrenia you usually get the diagnosis of schizophreniform first 6 months or less. if your condition lasts longer than 6 months your diagnosis will change to schizophrenia. if less than 30 days you get the diagnosis of brief psychotic disorder. so the first time you are diagnosis you are brief psychotic disorder then if it lasts longer than 30 days it changes to schizophreniform and then lasts longer than 6 months schizophrenia. and if you have a mood disorder as prominent as the schizophrenia you are schizoaffective disorder.
