I agree totally. Russian can not be taught like a typical language. The language does not match the letters so one has to listen to the phrase that this great teacher teaches then associate it with the Russian letters, and then you know what it sounds like, what it means, the way the letters generally look, then last learn how to spell it exactly. But if you are a mere man then just take one look at the average young Ukrainian woman or young Russian woman then all of a sudden you will have inspiration! I can't speak for the ladies since I am what is known as an antiquated straight male but that is just the way life is. In short, I will be back; and now he knows he has become my teacher! So if I can learn Russian at an advanced age then you have no excuse.

0:10 нет ….. “Май” ❤ I was always raised to say “may” “Can” 🤔 can, is kinda like a function… Like “can I have a glass of water?” A response “I dunno 🤷‍♂️ can you drink/function a glass of water?” So please share Russians 🇷🇺 because I know dialogue is different everywhere… but the last thing I want to be is an “American” imbecile. 😮‍💨 alright a little research “Можно мне” may & can are the same thing in my translation… But do you understand where I am coming from… what’s another way of asking for in Russian 🇷🇺… or is this just flat out it?

Английский язык насыщен оборотами, которые в русском переводе становятся нарочито стилизованными. В современном русском языке приветствуется больше точности, больше конкретики. Дореволюционный язык российского дворянства также изобиловал оборотами типа "не соблаговолите ли Вы?" или "могу ли я позволить себе?", "не будет ли любезен?"... С тех пор минуло уже более ста лет. Это я предупредил на всякий случай. The English language is saturated with phrases that become deliberately stylized in Russian translation. In modern Russian, more precision, more specificity is welcome. The pre-revolutionary language of the Russian nobility was also replete with phrases like "will you please?" or "can I afford it?", "would you be kind?"... More than a hundred years have passed since then. I warned you just in case.
