I found steel on soft side and blades need a good tune up once it’s sharpend it’s fine for soft woods like bass wood or lime or willow I carved wood spirits in branches and golf balls greetings from Essex 👍🇮🇹🐾🦊

Hello. Saw your comment on Clarkies Cutters so came for a look. Saw this title and subbed before watching. Been wanting to get my hands on this knife for a while. So will enjoy this. I Don't usualy like Schrade But i will judge it after watching. All the best.

I had to reprofile basically all the blades on number except for the straight chisel. That just needed sharpening & stropping. Cuts great now, but the steel is still pretty mid.

Got mine about a 1,5 year. Everybody wants to carve spoons with this knive. Sure, it's fun. But try a normal whittle. Like a little owl or a figurine. And you will be hooked to whittling and the splinter.

Thanks for the tip, willing to try however just starting out I thought I'd keep it simple.

Great review mate, and that forest looked a far better setting than my kitchen where I filmed mine. I definitely wouldn't want to carve a kuksa with that.

Cheers, was for sure overly optamistic thinking it could make a kuksa. might be good for finishing details though.
