im doing it right now, i already bought everything - carburetor, cylinder head. revorked all the electronicas that are not needed with the carburetor, onlyi don't have it from malossi because the price is close to 400e, so far now they will drive as it is and when i get the money for this part, i will describe how it works...because now i spent 600e on parts because i bought everything new of good quality and there was no budget for this part...

Good day Guys, what sort of compression reading should a Malossi sport 70cc kit show when new? I am having some starting issues on a carb conversion Morini with a full circle crank. I recycled the cylinder and piston just replacing the rings and have a compression reading of 105psi. I can get it to run with a quick sniff of easy start but hard going off the start button.
@scooterstreetau
@scooterstreetau 2 жыл бұрын
120PSI is great but 105 although low should still start. Check the crank seals, also make sure the fuel is arriving at the cylinder. The use of easy start indicates a possibility of nit fuelling. Checks start at the tank and follow from there. It will pay to check Spark, Air and reed.
@totallysimulated944
@totallysimulated944 2 жыл бұрын
@@scooterstreetau thanks for the reply guys. I have replaced the crank and seals but now wonder if maybe I have a compression leak on one of them but if you’re saying 105 should still start. I’ll let you know. Spark is strong using a digitronic. Reeds are malossi and new. Air filter is stock with air box mod tubes. I have two different carby options 19 dellorto and 21 copy same issue from both. Thanks for your great advice and awesome videos.

@@totallysimulated944 When a new install you must give time for carby to prime and give fuel to the cylinder. Is this happening? You should check what you have done to eliminate possible causes. Be thorough and check from crank to seal to piston and so on.

@scooterstreetau
@scooterstreetau 2 жыл бұрын
The ECU is in the kit, it is the part on the left at the start of the video👍 When the companies design and produce these products they test their designs and offer a product that will work effectively, so we trust the brands we like and therefore use what they recommend. When the parts are fitted you can be assured that the engine will work fine and with these kit it does. So capping the head may not be ideal.

With the Ditech Morini engine, when you use the Malossi conversion unit (5512894) they recommend to use a carby (1611040 or similar) and Cylinder from Aprilia SR Replica which is again Morini/Aprilia.

Which of malossi mhr rep and stage6 sport pro mk2 has better acceleration and top speed?
@scooterstreetau
@scooterstreetau 2 жыл бұрын
There's alot of variables there - but the MHR Rep would be our pick. It has excellent off the line torque, and mid range which makes it really fun around town up to 90kph zones (its also twin ring, long piston service life). The Sport Pro MKII probably has a higher maximum power figure being that its single ring, but will need significantly more work to run as well as it makes it power at a higher RPM than the MHR Rep, meaning there's more work to be done to make that power accessible for general use. Both are great cylinder kits, the price point of the Stage 6 is also excellent.

@scooterstreetau
@scooterstreetau 2 жыл бұрын
Could be either, hard to tell. We usually recommend 21mm carb with a 70cc cylinder kit to keep the % increase closer. 50cc - 70cc is roughly 40% increase, going from 17.5mm carb to 19mm is only an 8% increase - which isn't going to do much. 21mm is far more appropriate.

Unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do to the 4 stroke scooters outside of an 80cc cylinder kit. You can try derestricting the CDI, most of the 4 strokes are restricted from factory. This will often give you a few extra kms top speed. Putting a slightly longer belt in the bike can also help, but only of the factory belt isn't reaching the very top of the variator. I would usually only recommend trying this if you're experienced with CVT transmissions.
