"Jesus just Left Chicago" is a reference to a gospel radio station out of Chicago that you could pick up all the way down south, hence "...and he's bound for New Orleans."
@artsilva
@artsilva 3 жыл бұрын
it also could reference how gospel blues made its way down to N.O. "Muddy Water turn to Wine" could be referencing The Godfather of Chicago Blues himself brought attention to the blues along the way; aka Mississippi Blues, making it acceptable like fine wine.

@@artsilvaREALLY ????? I thought both gospel and blues originated in the fields , churches and red houses down south. Now I’m learnin’ they came from Chicago via a radio station. I guess Al Capone was the first big manager of this music, but he was from New York , so maybe the blues and gospel started in NY amongst the millionaire Jews and Capone then took it to Chicago and gave it to the radio station, who sent it down south and told everyone Hey !!!! This is your music. ?
