You made me think about my grandmother. Her specialty was baking bread which the whole family miss and try very hard to replicate. Great recipe!

After some grocery store calculation this is at the minimum a $60 meal and I live in the Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia. It's a delicious dinner and I will write it down but I don't think this is an every day or even a every once in a while recipe. More like a last meal recipe...

I could do it for quite a bit less than 60 bucks, but it'd involve catching some of the seafood myself.

I live in South Carolina and I could make it with $30, and its a casserole so for a family of four, you could have leftovers, that makes it a $15 meal. Serving it over rice or with grits would stretch it a little more.

This is the worst looking dish I've ever seen and the insane price point only hammers that home. Why would you waste 60 bucks in seafood on THIS. Just pan-sear the scallops and shrimp, deglaze with a wine sauce, and save yourself $40 on a meal ten times better.

@@crossfiyah674 seriously. Pan sear the shrimp and scallops with some butter and garlic and have it with some wine to drink and call it good. Such a waste of such expensive ingredients

Have you thought to use canned seafood If there's a Walmart in your area look in the canned meat isle Bumblebee brand is a good brand If you can't afford canned shrimp Leave it out there are other seafood you can buy

It probably tastes good, but shrimp, scallops, and crab meat make it a very expensive casserole.

My grandparents were Michigan special education teachers in the 1950s. One of their two sons taught deaf students, and their oldest granddaughter teaches autistic students.

Love the story about your grandmother, but man it made feel old. Your grandmother went to college in the 60’s. My grandfather was in college in the 1910’s. Will have to try this casserole, may replace the artichoke with milliton. To give a more Cajun flair for my part of the country.
