I can tell you as a former aviation soldier with the National Guard that the CH-47 is not a aircraft for landing in hot zones and if we did we had heavy air support from Apaches, A10's and other ground attack aircraft. The CH-47 is used a lot to drop soldiers off where other aircraft do not have the ability to do so but these are all night missions and are in no way done in a hot zone. And even we did this we still flew with the support of heavily armed ground attack aircraft. This was a sad event that should of never took place.

Mr. Vaughn, I just want to say I'm sorry for the loss of your Son. I can't imagine going through what you and your family have been through. I want to thank you for your courage and strength and For letting the people know what happened. My son is a combat medic in the Army and he will be deploying with a special forces group to Africa, 3 times over the next 3 years. My son is my best friend and the day he was born was the best day of my life. And now he is a father and I became "paw paw" a little over a year ago. It really worries me knowing how the so called leaders, treat our war fighters in the field. You and your family will continue to be in my prayers. Thank you sir and keep up the great work you guys are doing!

I can tell you this much our soldiers were puppets in a bigger game that Unical 76 (yes the company) started long long ago. I will never forget these brave warriors. I am at a loss for words in what to say to you. May God Bless You and your family. There has been so many cover-ups and the sending of our men and women into the fire without the proper gear.

When our troops retire most have been shot up with a chemical that causes ptsd, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, I have seen troops in psych wards, with the same illness.

I'm a former U.K. SF member and have worked with seals, there solid guys. It's so refreshing to hear someone finally speak up and say that what goes on within that community, be it US U.K. Or the European community, should remain confidential, people really don't understand that it's not about being all dark and mysterious, it's vital to getting jobs done. I understand people have natural curiosity, but it's the team op sec management there in the US that is entirely to blame for this, it's utterly floored. I experienced just some of what been mentioned here, it's like being compromised before you've even got out of bed, it was at its very worse when working with US groups. These guys were had by an Taliban insurgent that got on the flight and blew it, there shit scared of that coming out and being forced to present the floored management system they had in place. The management teams, the policy makers and politicians are the faceless pussys that caused this and they will never be held to account, it was only a matter of time before this happened to one team or another, and ye know what, even after the event very little changed, makes me sick

I read another book about this tragedy and it made my blood boil. My friend lost her son on Extortion 17. This is a crime and should never have been allowed to happen. My heart breaks for all of the family and friends of these warriors.

This is what happens when idiot politicians who most have never served think they make better coaching decision's than people who spent half their lives and decades of experience, education, and skill's in the military who have actually fought on the ground against the enemy and are knowledgeable of their tactic's and the military commanders who should know better than to listen to them but thats not their fault either. The whole system needs to be re-drafted so military experts do not need to go to these clowns for permission. The enemy knows our tactics very well because some of those afghan soldier's who gets to see our intel are double agent's. That is why in current theater's today, our U.S. Forces sends the afghan soldier's FIRST into battle against the terries so we can observe their intentions and not be shot in the back.

I’m a veteran... these things happen more than you think. Listen... our tax dollars go to stealth fighters and missile systems not soldiers on the ground. Special operations is spread thin. There are not enough of them to go around. This is why this happens.
