"The watershed" on UK TV means the time when programmes which are unsuitable for children (eg. because of swearing, adult content) can be broadcast. It starts at 9pm (in the evening) and ends at 5.30 (in the early morning). So, the phrase "after the watershed" means "after 9 in the evening".

The Irish boys were an act called jedward who appeared on xfactor and made it through rounds based on their novelty rather than their singing ability, they then became more a tv personality and social media because they had this act of being young and dumb and quirky much to the announce of the public but it made tv entertainment at the same time

He used to do a show called TV Heaven, Telly Hell. He did an episode with Johnny Vaughan where he was talking about one of his favourite documentaries about a gang of bikers, was very funny, even Sean was laughing out loud, well worth a watch.

15 Storeys High is a great first look into how Sean Locks brain works. Its a series he done many years back , i think on BBC 2. Living in a high rise flat on a council estate. Very clever and funny show!!! Defo worth a look.

The watershed refers to TV broadcasting, it is the time of day after which programming can contain adult content. In the UK it is after 9pm. Basically after this time, anything goes, swearing, full on nudity etc on mainsteam TV.

Sean lock did a great series called 15 storeys high which was very underrated at the time and as it came out a similar time to the office and it is him and benedict wong from the MCU sharing a flat in south London. Highly recommend .

You asked about Sean Lock, his stand up is hilarious but for those old enough to remember, he also created a really good Sitcom back in the early 2000's called 15 Storeys High with Mark Lamar (Never Mind The Buzzcocks original host!) It starred Benedict Wong (From Doctor Strange) and a whole host of other faces you'll probably recognise from other comedy shows you have watched. I haven't seen it for years, so I don't know if it has aged well but I remember it being hilarious and essential viewing. If you can find it, it would be great to see your reaction.

countdown is a show on every day in the afternoon in the uk for serious quizzers. they choose vowels and consonants from rachel, she displays them on the board and they have to make the longest word from the letters. this repeats a few times. and in between they have a number round. where they choose values of numbers and have to use them to get a total which she randomly shows. 8 out of ten cats is a comedy show where comedians compete to get the best laughs. this '8 out of ten cats does countdown' mashup is a thing they tried once for a laugh which clashes the best comedians with a straight show. and it worked! really well. totally subversive and the original viewers probably hate it - but its so funny.

Sean Lock is *quick*. You should see his appearances on Would I Lie to You? There was another panel show that he did regularly, Argumental. And then he hosted TV Heaven, Telly Hell, which isn't brilliant, but it's still lots of Lock.

Sean Lock and Micky Flanagan are great! You know someone's funny when Micky finds him hilarious. Also, Sean consistently makes Johnny Vegas laugh on Cats does Countdown, which is no mean feat! Sean has also been big mates with Bill Bailey since their early days on the comedy circuit. Recommendations must be coming in thick and fast, but a good branch on the British comedy family tree is the school that includes Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Matthew Holness, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, Julian Barrett, so IT Crowd (written by same people as Father Ted), Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Mighty Boosh, Toast of London, Nathan Barley. There are loads of cameos in these shows, Ayoade was at Cambridge with David Mitchell of WILTY, Berry has worked a lot with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, Fielding was a contestant on Nevermind the Buzzcocks, even Stephen Merchant had a cameo as a chef on Darkplace. You can link almost everyone in contemporary British comedy. But that is a rich vein for UK humour, honorary Brit! Actually I'd recommend Toast of London best of Clem Fandango series 1&2

Jedward were a talent-show double-act. You should see them on Never Mind the Buzzcocks which was a TV Pop-Music quiz. Frankie Boyle hosted two of those. The guy who nearly choked at Jedward at the beginning was Charlie Brooker who is behind Black Mirror. You shold check-out some of his Screenwipe stuff. He just did a new one about the Pandemic called Anti-Viral Wipe, it's on YT.

The Leeds thing: if you’ve broken up with someone and you jump on a plane to get away, it’s usually to go to the south of France of New York. Somewhere that you think will make them jealous. A beautiful or exciting destination. But he said he jumped on the FIRST flight, which just happened to just be an internal flight to a very unglamorous place 😁

"Jimmy Carr Gets Some Savage Insults" is a group of clips where Jimmy is getting roasted for his tax evasion - although he didn't do anything illegal he was using a scheme that meant he was paying as low as 2% taxi instead of the usual 20-40% and considering how much he probably earned that's alot of money lol
