Just saw I made a mistake the 1.8 has 250nm and has 180ibft of torque.

I've never seen a channel from someone that does videos on a 1.4 tsi leon fr. Hot damn you have my sub bro, i love this car! so versatile & fun to drive. Good to mod too!

Loved ur video i have the 181 BHP diesel. Great economy on a long run but when u put ur foot down it is rapid . Going to get it remapped to 220 BHP

When you put the car in sports mode from eco the steering does change. Goes a bit heavier. I believe the throttle response, suspension, and steering all change

Nice comparison video mate! I often wondered what the difference would be, most the vids on YT are in Spanish lol Get as many bolt-on mods as you can on the car, I've almost done it all now, and the difference is night n day. Just added you on Instagram!

Yeah i had the same problem as well mate when i was trying to choose between the two haha, slowly getting there with mods mate got a few still to go. Thanks for the support though mate really appreciate it

Cool video guys, I have the FR technology 15 plate in the green but mines the TDI 184 with 380 NM Torque. was impressed by your mates bhp gain from the Remap from 177 to 220, Looking to get mine done as soon as I got the shekels lol, how much gain are you getting off the Ramair Induction kit ??

Good to see the video that’s English! Debating a 2018 1.4 petrol but dsg. I think whilst the video is useful, it’s a slightly unfair comparison because the 1.8 is so highly tuned. Maybe try do a comparison between a stock 1.4 and stock 1.8👌🏻

Hi mate, thanks for the comment :) Both are running stage 1, but the 1.8 does get more gains from a stage 1 for obvious reasons, i have driven both of them stock and to be honest there isn't much difference at all, might be different op pinons out there but i couldn't feel much.

Looking to get a 1.8, where I live the 1.4 is more to insure than the 1.8 I don’t know why it just is I plan to remap it to 260 with a free flow exhaust and induction kit, but stock it will be enough for me definitely the torque is higher than the 1.4

Hi mate Thanks for the comment, 1st stage remap you would be looking at around 220 to 230, you would have to be careful putting it up to to 260 without at least more supporting mods big one being the clutch, the 1.4 150 act and the 1.8 Tsi has the same torque standard but you would see a bigger increase in a 1.8 via a remap Hope this helps mate but great choice of car :)

The 1.8 does the 0-60 quicker than the 1.4

Hi mate, thanks for the comment, this is true but we was comparing my own car against my mates and with my throttle responder it really does help with the 0-60 with quick push from the start. but your right on stock car the 1.8 does do it quicker :)

I’m looking at buying a 1.4/1.5/1.8, is there a big difference in fuel consumption? Really want a car with some umpf, but not one that’s gunna absolutely drink petrol. Currently driving a 1.4 2004 fiesta with 80 bhp so going to 150 should feel like a nice upgrade but not sure if I should go for 1.8, if it’s similar I’d happily get the bigger engine but if it’s going to use say 50% extra fuel then may not be worth it! Good video thanks

My 1.8 Sportwagon has gotten 39mpg on a road trip. Even loaded up, I have good power still. Love the 1.8. At 57000 miles and oil is still on full mark!

@@sonofrobert I ended up getting a BMW 3 series 2L, it gets around 33.3 mpg on average, and upwards of 45+ if it’s long journeys

Incase you haven't found out by now, the 'click' you get when you go full throttle is for eco mode. You'll know yourself when in eco that the throttle response is much less than normal/sport mode. If you go fully down in eco mode and activate the 'click' it'll give alot more power out, as if you were in sport mode. All about if you're in eco mode but are pulling out and need to get away quickly.

@@ryanpowell5947 Good job. Hopefully you'll be able to get back to me for a question i have. Think my cars pretty much the same as yours, it's a 2015 leon fr 1.4 petrol. Question is regarding getting it mapped. Some have said not to because it'll wreck it, some have said it's no problem. How do you feel since you've got yours done? Good job and handling okay?

@@lfclad97 No problem mate, I have had mine stage 1 now for almost two years now and i haven't had a one problem and i know a lot of people who have had there 1.4 stage 1, as long as you go to a good dealer then you shouldn't have a problem, for example Revo, also have done about 30000 miles since the remap. hope this helps

Celtic tuning for certain cars. They don’t push some cars enough. That 1.8 can do 250hp and around 280lb torque. He paid for half an upgrade.

Hi mate, Thanks for the comment, to be honest they can get up to them figures but its not safe for standard parts, supporting mods yes but unsafe at the power without them. Hope you have a good Christmas mate :)

I'm just about to buy a brand new 1.5 tsi Leon Black edition... I know its the same bhp 150bhp as the 1.4 but I just wonder why seat did that.... Can't be much difference??

Hi mate thanks for the comment, no there not much difference, I don't believe the 1.5 has Active Cylinder control, and apart from the size i believe that is the only difference really

Iv got the 1.8 and had it remapped to stage 1 and didn’t feel any difference with the modes. Love my car. Had it for 4 years and wouldn’t change it. MPG is shit but worth it. One thing what you said yea it’s easy to get mods but it’s difficult to get the right one for stage 2 like a down pipe. Does anyone know where to get one?

Hi mate, I was hitting around 60mph of I drove eco so sitting at 60mph on the motorway during long journeys etc 👍

LEDs flash on and off very quick which saves power, too fast for ours eyes to pick up but on a camera it picks up the flashes

The 1.8 has the independent rear suspension, same as the cupra models and golf gti/R. whereas the 1.4 doesn't. how different does this make the cars feel when you test them back to back ?

To be honest couldn't really tell the difference, the handling felt the same between both specs. I have taken them both down some country roads as well but both handled the same.

I have a 1.8 with a Racechip which gives me 231hp, also a K&N panel filter also running 99 octane which make a big difference in the higher gears from 4500rpm.

Should have just bought a cupra instead 😂. I have a cupra 300 it just pulls in whatever gear especially with the DSG gearbox 🤤

I believe theres two versions of the 1.4 fr, 124bhp and 148bhp
