868 drivers from 41 different countries have competed in Formula 1 since its inception in 1950. The vast majority have played only a small part in the sport’s history or made a name for themselves elsewhere, but a significant minority have achieved longstanding success and immortalised themselves not only as icons of Formula 1, but the entire sporting world. One such driver broke numerous youth records early in his career, wowing everyone with his raw speed, while also being hot-headed and at times self-centred, but developed over time into a mature father figure in the Formula 1 paddock, with a kind-hearted nature and quick-witted sense of humour. An unstoppable force in his prime, who will soon be leaving Formula 1 with a legacy few can outrank, this is the story of Sebastian Vettel.

For me, seb is the greatest. I am 22 years old. He made me fall in love with this beautiful sport, both on and and off the track. A generational talent and serious athlete, but more importantly, a decent human being with really honest and emotional moments. A champion of human beings, as well as behind the wheel. Happy retirement Seb 👑

There‘s something about years with uneven numbers at the end and Seb. Debut in 2007, first titel challenge in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and also 2017. In my opinion those are some of his best

On a serious note, Vettel's ability to form strong relationships was a strength. He had his moments, but driving fast consistently alone is not sufficient to win multiple championships. F1 is a team sport, something whixh a few drivers seem to have forgotten recently.

It’s funny you shame max when vettel was much worst then max. You must have forgotten when seb bashed his car into Lewis in Baku under safety. I love seb because of how aggressive he is. We need more aggressive drivers unfortunately though these new DTS want family friendly corporate fake drivers who love each other and are besties. Seb was a jerk when he started in redbull. I have a strong feeling max will end up the same way. You people act like these drivers aren’t humans and can’t change. Max is young as was vettel when he started. And to be a champion you have to be selfish and before you say Lewis wasn’t selfish he was the star of selfish especially towards nico and Alonso. The only reason people think he is so nice is because they watched dts and saw him with bottas who was a door mat. I’m assuming you are a dts fan and didn’t actually watch prime vettel or 2008-2018 lewis because they weren’t far off on the selfish scale. It’s so annoying all the hate for max. Like we get it. Max isn’t even part of this and you brought it up.

Hungary 2021 is still one of the most painful moments of Seb's late career. I felt so bad for him because, even with some luck, he deserved second place. Then being disqualified for a technicality really hurt. Yes, rules are rules and everyone has to follow them and it's a good thing. Still sad. Didn't he also win the "most overtakes in a season" award in 2021? This is a great video, I can't imagine how much work went into it. Thank you for making it, thank you for showing the real Seb and thank you for sharing your work with us.

I started watching F1 since 2009 and from my very first races as a fan I loved Sebastian more than any other driver, despite only being 4 years old at the time. He then became my idol by dominating the F1 world for the next years. And even though there were some painful moments I never regret my choice. He will remain my idol and a person to tell to the younger people for his on and off track actions. Now I am 17 years old and I strongly believe that Seb is one of the reasons I am who I am, and I dont really know how my life would have been without him. Thank you Peter as well for your hard work that helped me remind the good old days

Just finished watching it, I took my time lol. Vettel is funny, light hearted, knowledgeable, passionate, supremely talented and a good guy in general. But the fact that he also can be hot-headed, error prone, hypocritical, selfish at times is what make him very special. More human and more relatable to me. Love you Seb, even in your booed podiums, your multi 21s, your sbinallas or your Hockenheim's (that one still hurts). Humans fuck up, and despite your lows, your highs are brighter than almost anyone else in F1 history.

Just started the video but wanted to share my 2 cents on Seb. I started watching F1 properly in 2010 at the start of the season, so in my first few years of following the sport I saw Seb grow and dominate the track. I remember at the time I used to get bored whenever I'd see Seb pull out a 3 second gap by the end of the first lap, but I always respected him for it. He was just on another level entirely. I find it funny how these days he's this really kind, passionate, forward thinking man yet in his RB years he was ruthless, and a killer on the track. The ultimate villian and I loved him for it. Since I started watching lots of drivers have retired, but none is hitting me quite as hard as Sebs. Always one of my favourites, and it's a real shame he never achieved what he wanted to with Ferrari. Danke Seb.

The thing everyone gets wrong about Seb is that he was always in his prime, the cars however were not prime championship winning machinery, like RB of 2014, The Ferraris that followed it and Astons that currently he drives. By his own admission in 2014 and in 2019 he was championship focused while Ricciardo and Charles were race focused. Ferrari's development in years 2016 to 2018 were not as aggressive and effective as the Mercs which allowed Lewis to overhaul Seb's lead. One must listen to the podcast, it's all there. Do pay attention to when he speaks of analyzing his rivals' performances of those made possible by them and of those made possible by their machineries. His Podcast was like an Encyclopedia into Formula One. Please listen forsakes of Formula One.

@@sandordomonkos8351 I think it was mostly down to the cars in those years. Remember Seb in 2014 came into the season with barely any testing under his belt due to Renault problems, compared to Danny who had considerably more miles under his belt. Also, Redbull learnt about Seb's Ferrari move (as admitted by Horner) very early in 2014 and they threw their weight behind Ricciardo. Well, in 2019 versus Charles it was partly car, party a discouraged Seb having lost 2018 title fight and mistakes by Seb and Charles is a very good driver who learnt and benefited a lot from Seb.

The RB7 wasn’t largely the same as the RB6, it didn’t have the double diffuser and the exhaust placement for the blown diffuser is completely different and doesn’t have the huge shark fin as well. RB6 has much more downforce than the RB7

Great video. Just one small thing.... Sebastian Loeb is pronounced 'Lobe' as in 'ear lobe' and not 'Low ebb' as you pronounced it. But that's not really a major indiscretion, more of a 'slip of the tongue'....lol.

Been watching F1 for quite a while Emerson fittipaldi was my first favorite driver but then there was the German. In the 90's I had Michael @ Rusty. (NASCAR) Now over the last 10+ years it's all Porsche and GT racing. I've kept an eye on F1 Seb is #2 Hamilton #3 all time due to my bias you know who I have as #1

He proved beyond doubt without the best car on the grid he couldn’t win a championship. He also at times made it look possible he couldn’t win a championship with the best car on the grid.

Cope harder. The Ferrari Nor the RedBull was the best car on the grid when he joined either team but okay 🤣🤷‍♂️ Sebastian earned everything he got. Like I said, cry more.
