Agreed, but I hope we will get to Mars in a few years already, and if, it should be no problem to locate Ingenuity's last position (or maybe it will still be active? Who knows. After all, Curiosity is still active after 11 years).

Seems like they're pushing their own envelope? On the flight plan page it says this was its fastest max speed to date, and it looks like their "flight altitude up to 5 metres" is out of date - this one was 18m, and the previous flight was 24m!

This is actually part of a video clip that NASA put out a few months ago. It's actually filming its own shadow on the planet surface

This is absolutely amazing. I had a radio remote helicopter 🚁 about 10+ years ago and I had it for a week, took it to work and the wind got hold of it and what I know, it's still circling the earth. But this, a helicopter on Mars is just something else and long may it live.

Yes, this is completely wrong and incompetent. 22.4 mph = 22.4 * 1.609 km/h = 36 km/h = 10 m/s = 10 meters per second.

I've forgotten how much flight time it has between recharge but I would like to see some distance put on that bad boy! We have telescope that can observe those areas from Earth. LFG NASA

The camera has a fish eye effect, this flight was at 18m in altitude so definitely not seeing mars' curvature

1:10 These numbers are false. 10 kph (actually: km/h) is certainly not equal to 22.4 mph. You American guys should finally abandon this obsolete Imperial unit system and learn science using the metric system! 1 mile = 1.609 kilometers, so 10 km/h = 10/1.609 mph = 6.215 mph. Or, if 22.4 mph is the correct speed, it is equal to 22.4 * 1.609 km/h = 36.0416 km/h, and 36 km/h = 10 metres per second.

Humanity MUST leave Earth one day. As the sun ages, it starts to expand. The sun will consume the inner planets as it expands. Possibly even Jupiter and Saturn! We're only paying rent and the landlord will be knocking with an eviction notice one day😅 We haven't even scratched the surface of what is needed to keep our species alive in the long run.That's why so much time and money is funnelled in to exploring/studying the cosmos. We need all the time we can get.
