Hi. My 9-string Luthieros Orpheus Lyre arrived today and I’m trying to tune it, but the tuning pegs are not holding the correct note and are spinning all the way back. For example: I am tuning the 2nd string ‘A’ 3 and it spins all the way down to D or below. And most of the other pegs are doing this too. Will it take time for the pegs to stay put, or do I have a faulty Lyre? Thank you. Amanda

Hi. Lina explains what to do about this beautifully in her great video - I think it’s either the one on tuning your Lyre - and it works because I had exactly the same problem as you until I watched this and did exactly what she said. Basically you have to take the string off, take the peg out and rub it (the peg) all over with chalk and then put it back and then you’ll find that when you tune it up, the tuning peg won’t slip any more. 😊
