Very informative! My son was driving his 2007 Infiniti m35x a couple days ago and the engine just, stopped. Would not crank again after that. Hit the button to start and the started engages and just does not turn. We had it towed home. Today I put a ratchet and socket on the cranks and it will not budge. I'll bring home my long 1/2" ratchet from work tomorrow and try it, but I am pretty sure it is locked up tighter than a drum. 😭 And dude, please wear some gloves! My body recoils each time you rubbed your fingers on those spun bearings! 💀

I've seen worse with the cams... Person definately had some extended oil changes... The exhaust valves are usually the worst. Or imploding catalytic converters as the age.

Why fix an oil leak when you can just buy a new car? But seriously Nissan, the rear main seal design on these engines is a PITA. Removing the transmission is easy compared to dropping the upper oil pan and scraping all that RTV off. Curious why the front seal is so simple compared to the rear - crank flex caused by torque / weight of the transmission?
