Just want to say, really appreciate this KZfaq videos since watching the streams is inconvenient due to my schedule. The detailed explanations of the deck in the beginning and then the turn by turn commentary both are excellent. I've been waiting for a real solid Selesnya counters deck. This seems like it's got real legs for the meta. I hope it sticks around for a while. Loved the secret deck tech at the end!

Yeah, my version is running too much around landfall, with felidar and all the green cards that take advantage of land dropping, but I see that I am just making it slow.

Just from watching the play of the list, I'd be really tempted to try going to 2 or 3 commune. Bridges that gap between slightly more consistent land drops and slightly more consistent haunting/Michiko's/Katilda's. I also wonder about running Wandering Emperor over the angel as a silver bullet. Having one more way to interact at instant speed doesn't seem bad, while still providing bodies for a katilda aura (though you do lose the evasion, so it's a trade off). Idk, could just be wrong, but struck me as something maybe worth trying.

The landfall version of GW enchantments is hilarious, Kodama of the West Tree + Felidar Retreat is quite something. (And throw in some Scute Swarms because who doesn't love scuting and swarming!) But I think you're right about it suffering on account of serving two masters. Plus it's even more vulnerable to the failure-mode where you get board-wiped and then just die.

So I have tried this Selesnya enchantment and because of my lacking collection, I've put some Go-Shintai of Shared Purpose and it actually synergies quite well with Katilda (creates Spirit tokens), Hallowed Haunting (is an enchantment). It provides useful chump blocker every turn. It sounds playable in theory but maybe too slow in reality. What do you think ?

I've been exploring variations of this deck for a few days, and I agree about the Kami of Transience, but I've found that 1 copy of it can be a life-saver. Just to have that tiny bit of recursion to deal with board wipes.

Restoration of Eiganjo is surprisingly good in this deck. Gives options to ramp, helps you hit your land drops and gives recursion potential. It’s been probably the most surprising card from this set for me.

I agree, I'm running 1 or 2 here, squeezed it in place of some other cards I didn't have, and it is really good on turn 3 to get back the white/green 2/2 ramp creature that people will zap immediately (if they are smart and know how this deck works).

I agree with board that weaver is probably a 4 of. I only have one due to lacking wildcards but it seems to do something busted everytime. Had a glorious sunrise out, played the portrait saga, doubled the effect with weaver and had a 23/23 trampling lifelinking jukai attacking. Felt reasonably good :p

Restoration of Eiganjo + Light Paws + Runeforge + Runes + Wedding Announcement has been incredible for me. Reistant to board wipes. Lifegainy enough to out last aggro and until you get your engine online. And enough card advantage to give control a good run for their money. Kami of Transience is really nice to ditch to Eiganjo as well. Always interesting to see how CGB builds vs how I build. Always gives a good perspective on thought processes for deck building. Amazing content as always CGB!

Also, although its a worse card, I play arrest instead of confinement or touch of the spirit realm. Because the aura trigger with Light-Paws is just insane. Playing a card, then getting to tutor and put a card onto the board AND then getting to draw ontop of that is just insanely powerful.

Light Paws will never be a thing in standard, it's not standard playable card at the moment, not enough good auras. The cost to play her is too high, you have to run a bunch of mediocre auras and could draw the wrong half of your deck. The enchantment archetype isn't aura oriented and don't need her.

All that guy needs in the last match is some kind of removal for the haunting and then just chump blocking till doomskar. That's how you deal with it

Selesnya is always kinda consistent with the counters theme and this time is around enchantments. I can remember a decent selesnya counters deck in most standard but usually they are not among the top 5 meta decks.

I'll be building THIS deck for sure. I'll have to wait until I finish pushing through Diamond 1, because I KNOW I will de-rank when I play it. Unfortunately, I have a soft spot for Selesnya decks, but I SUCK when I play them. Like, I just love the mechanics, I love to see them go off, but I can never get them to do it.

I only have 2 and im having some good early success with a similar build. Im running 2 copies of glorious sunrise at the top end. The trample can be really clutch for pushing damage especially if you have the portrait saga. Also running 2 of the kami of transcience again trample :)

Tried this in place of my homebrewed enchantment deck (very similar but a tad different) and in place of turntimber I ran an extra snake guy. Undefeated so far but I'm only platinum 2 so that's not saying much yet. Dropped down to gold from diamond 1 somehow so grinding my way back using this now but alternating with my red white alchemy dragons. Got like 95% wins with that too out of like 30 or so matches. People panic and do funny stuff when you reveal Tia or gnawbone on the dragon fire lol

I"m one of the 13% CGB Yeyy and I'm trying to build a new deck this one is perfect for me. You build a new meta deck wow beating white/black tokens is very hard and you did. I hope the powerful cards in this deck should not be banned. The cohesive and stronger enchantment deck plus a bonus gain so much life make the opponent feel silly about it.

CGB: To help with the frogs in the morning, I'd recommend taking a hot shower beforehand, then starting with some vocal exercises and (I know it's hokey but it works0 some singing. There are lots of singing/vocal warmups you can do beforehand that'll really help deal with that particular issue. Also, You're cool. :)

@@xxxmelficexxx I don't have enough wildcards to run full playsets of all the best rare Kamigawa enchantments and payoffs, but I would say that decks running 4 Hallowed Hauntings are not looking to win by turn 5 in 90% of their games. Obviously they CAN do it with a perfect draw, but its rare.

I know you don’t always respond on here Master Sensei, but why do you add Arctic Treeline here (at end in deck tech) when any of the other tap dual lands like Blossoming Sands would be strictly better? That one life could matter. Not a big deal but you will often use the snow dual in this way and sometimes it’s better (like with a search for forest card), but I think in this case it’s worse.

I tried running a Team pennant it helps pump a mic hill and also give Tampa and vigilance I wait til I get a spirit from hallowed haunting because equip on token costs one.

This deck will shine for a while for sure, but I feel this gets hard countered by blue white control decks with all the enchantment + creature board wipes they got now. One of my favorite deck last standard was a blue white enchantment spirit deck that I might revisit will all the new toys we got.

@@rurounikreep Devastating Mastery and the newly released Farewell which event exiles. Both cost 6 but stabilize very reliably as they also wipe everything else (if needed).

CGB, Try some voice warmup exercises before recording. I'm sure it will be weird at first if you never did any voice/choir work but it will improve the frogginess in the mornings. Thanks for all that you do!

What about rite of harmony? Good at mid range to late game for some extra card advantage. Works great with Ranger Class, Wedding Announcement, and if Hollowed Haunting is on the board already

The deck already has card draw and it's super slow, the deck can struggle on the draw against aggro.

I think the best card they printed in this format is Farewell. They went over the top with the value of enchantments and artefacts, so it's nice they included something to counter all that stuff.

One of Weaver is almost insulting. I think it‘s a no questions asked 4 of alone for the interaction with Good Boi Draw! Other than that I love the much different approach to Crokeyz version

I find weaver to be quite clunky. It is good, don't get me wrong, but I feel like I would like to be doing something else instead of copying. I would instead try to find 4 slots for Generous Visitor, that one I think is a must in this deck, plus an amazing 1 drop that quickly turns into a 2/2 and can start rivaling those pesky mono whites.

I never think that there is a perfect version of the deck cause it has to fit the player also ;)

An untapped Weaver is basically what win all the aggro and mirror mashup. Weaver into Circle of confinement/Borrowed time copied is brutal for the opponent. The card advantage with Companion is what makes you win on the long run as well. This card is way too good.

Been facing removal heavy decks (like always…), and hallowed haunting/katilda are just too slow against them. Dropped both and kept 4 each of weaver, kami, visitor, and tamiyo protection spell. Now it’s aggro as R but with life gain. Kami and tamiyo make it resilient vs removal too. Weaver enables more than enough card draw to keep going in the late game.

@@SmugAmerican Not really, the 2 mana green werewolf is the only card that can make survive the deck playing it against Selesnya enchantment, This is an extremely unfavor mashup for Monogreen and Gruul.

I don't see how a 3 drops attacking as a 4/4 or more most of the time is slow, only Adeline can push as much damage. It's just super vulnerable like Adeline which is completely different to being slow. Elite spellbinder at least permit you to delay on card but it doesn't push any damage, the 1 toughness makes this impossible to attack against Orzhov or most heaving removal decks.

Been playing a similar build and agree w/ many that Ranger Class seems out of place, I run Restoration and it has really proven it's weight. Also went 4 Weavers because the copying ability is insane more often than not- you say you want to be doing other things, but I think the control element of double Borrowed Time (or Spirit Realm, great idea!) is just too good a blowout against OP. But I'm going to take out Generous Visitor because you're right- it doesn't do enough even for 1 mana. Far be it from me to think I'm a better builder than The One himself though, so it's hard to argue against any of your choices!

He talks about it in the video and even plays a deck where op probably had 4 in their deck and cgb stomped them. Its a total trap because it takes the place of a creature because you have to tap it to activate the ability.

@@xxxmelficexxx right, I didn't get into it in my comment but he also says "I'm not doing the controlly version of this deck..." which is what mine is more geared towards. He wants more creatures to drop the hammer than I do in mine.
