In Part 4, we look closely at the Constitution on the Church and discuss a lot of the theological preparation for that document, including Pius XII’s Mystici corporis. For the Q&A please visit www.ccwatershed.org/blog/2017/...

A wonderful talk; well prepared content. I learned a lot about Vatican II listening to this series. Also, I've been to Fr Smith's OF and EF Masses in upstate South Carolina -- always reverent, excellent Latin, music/chanting, etc. He is a great priest.

This is a great series giving the background and major topics addressed in the constitutions of Vatican II. The priest has said that his purpose is NOT to address what is wrong with Vatican II, which I'm sure most of this audience is already aware. The priest is trying to show the history and ideas that led all of those bishops (trads and modernists) to vote in favor of these constitutions. Remember that Archbishop Lefebvre voted IN FAVOR of most of these docs before realizing what was happening. Mr NO D below gives a good discussion of this below and I am in agreement. The speech pattern of this priest is a stumbling block for many, and I can understand their POV given the recent history of the novus ordo. (Too many times the adage has proved out with priests: if it walks like a duck, and quacks, like a duck... I would like this much more if the priest talked like John Wayne, but that isn't the case.) But I have a great trust in our host Sensus Fidelium, and if SF says this priest is a right guy, then I will trust him. It is a spirit of our age that confuses men's speech and their understanding of one another. Christ will fix this in time, but in the meanwhile, let us look upon one another with greater charity.

Sensus Fidelium What is the title of the poem at the beginning?
@bagobeans

@Jimmy Massengill The title is "Mary the Dawn" and it was written by Fr. Justin Mucahy C.P. in the mid 20th century. You can find it as a hymn on KZfaq sung by Carmelite nuns. Hope this helps. It is a beautiful poem and hymn.

my 41 year old son sounds like this frequently on the phone...where he cannot be seen. He is most definitely not "swishy" or any of your other insults here of this knowledgeable priest. But he,my son, is really smart and when he gets started on some subject he's been studying, he sounds like this off and on, because he's passionate about the subject, not trying prove his machismo. Adrian, post a pic of yourself being all manly, maybe even a post wherein you talk about manliness, why not, so we all can nod and say, see there, those Catholic priests, you know.....God I am so sick of that.

Well you/re going to use "effeminate" anyway, so....my son ws not taught to "behave like a woman" that I know of. Anyway I looked at the picture and I don't really see what you wanted me to see. And usually wtih these sensus fidelium homilies I personally am not that interested in what the priest looks like or even who he is. So.. . at least all of us are paying attention one way or another. That's a good thing.

Who cares about how he speaks it's the content that matters. I agree he doesn't have a masculine tone, so what, neither did Mike Tyson.

Church of Christ = Catholic Church + Elements Found Outside of it (Catholic Church): is a modernist and incorrect interpretation caused by changing of the definition subsistence rather than their scholastic and latin etymological meaning
@aldrichemrys

Church of Christ = Catholic Church, and elements of the (Catholic) Church also (visibly) exists outside of her is the correct interpretation. The fullness of Christianity (i.e. Church of Christ) is found in the Church that LORD Jesus Christ established: the Catholic Church. All of the fullness and complete set of truth are in and belongs to the Catholic Church. There are elements (aka truth) that are outside the visible constitution of the Church (e.g. valid sacraments in other denominations), but all of them have a true belonging to the Catholic Church as a whole.
