He was a fine actor and a brilliant choice for playing Doctor Who

Absolutely nothing like the way he plays the Doctor. I think people assume he acted like the Doctor when he was being himself, but I reckon all the "hmmm"s and the voice for the Doctor were very deliberate acting ideas

He had real range like all the best actors do
