A commenter named Andrew A. Watson, whose comment seems to have disappeared, asked if the G3X was capable of displaying percent RPM instead of raw RPM values. In their case, they were interfacing to a PT6A. The sensor was gear reduced and basically produced a 0-4200 RPM reading, with 4200 RPM being at 70Hz. To do this, in the RPM1 setup on the G3X, under the sensor calibration, set 0 RPM to 0Hz and 100 RPM to 70Hz. This will allow the G3X to properly scale 0-70Hz with 0-100 percent.

Hi, thanks for your awesome info. I noticed the G3X can display Oil Pressure, Airswitch and Tacho individually but wonder whether there is a means to output all of them onscreen simultaneously?

If you only have a single 10" G3X display installed and the screen fails, I guess you would be SOL on engine information. On a simple plane like a PA28 that would not be a complete disaster since you would be landing immediately anyway. You could land based on known power settings, engine sound, and speed/altitude info from the G5. I'm just wondering if there is a backup other than installing a second screen, probably not. I have not seen anyone really discuss this. The Piper Pilot 100i has a single G3X screen. It is a production trainer aircraft and I don't see any backup engine gauges so I was wondering what their plan was for a screen failure.

Love the channel! You guys have taught me so much about the avionics in the plane I'm flying. Do you know how to change the engine information that displays in the permanent bar on the left? I'm on a G3X touch.

Hi Luke, thank you for watching our channel. Unfortunately as of now that information cant be changed, it is automatically setup based on sensors installed.

Can you configure what data is shown in the EIS main page? It seems from other videos and the manuals that the standard main page shows the RPM, MAP, oil temp and press at the top, and then the EGT/CHT graph underneath. From your screen, it looks like you can make it also show FF, which I would really want to see simultaneously with the other data. Is that done on the EIS menu page? Thanks!

This is done somewhat automagically depending on how much room is available, and what primary vs non-primary instruments you have. For example, if you don't have a manifold pressure gauge set up, there's now room for Fuel Flow or some other non-primary. One thing you can do, is manually hide gauges from the main page (done in config mode) then you'll be able to have more room for non-primaries.
