The setup for the Razer Kraken X and possible solutions for common issues that you may run into. I won't be able to account for every issue but I did my best to talk about what might be the most common and every way I know how to troubleshoot. I've done a video similar to this with another Razer headset and have owned plenty of other brands in the past so I know a fair amount about what could go wrong, but I won't know how to fix every issue nor will I have time to respond to everyone but I'll try my best if you leave a comment below!

When I set up the 7.1 surround sound 7.1 Surround Sound (Speakers) is not displayed as playback device and I am not able to enable 7.1 surround sound.

love thechannel finally subscribing , found you from my eldest cousin, since one of my god nephews was a bit rough with my headset so the wire is a bit touchy for sound. so hoping this helps fix that issue/ but needless to say my cousin is no longer to touch my stuff. i love him but the headset was from a late relative

Total lifesaver!!! Sound stopped working completely on my pc after I tried to set up my headphones. I uninstalled everything and followed your video and now it all works perfectly!

thanks I saw that my mic wasn't connected even though it was so I just gave the 3.5mm jack a little wipe and now it works thanks!!

The headset audio works fine, but my pc isn't detecting a mic. I had this issue from the get go and I have no idea what happened the first time to get it working, but since I connected a webcam and it switched to the webcam mic, I can't use my headset mic anymore. I can't switch it back. The webcam is not currently plugged into the pc anymore, I disconnected it while trying to figure out how to get my headset mic in use again. I have no clue, I've had three different friends try to help me out with this issue and everyone was stumped.

when i want to lower the volume , it does only to the 7.1 speaker not the speaker itself, just the suround is lowered not the noise

Hey no matter what I do my headsets mic never works(it only has one space for the 3.5 jack) and when I plug it in the my laptop asks what device it is so I say headset. Despite that it never shows up in the sound control panel, pls help?

I'm confused. Using audio control panel if i set them as stereo mic works and sound is ok but they are not detected in the razer app so i cant use 7.1 sound. If i set them as 7.1 (always in audio control panel) mic is not detected. I also saw that the razor app say to select the 7.1 surround sound as default system's playback device but if i use it headphones dont work at all. Any help, please?

Yeah, the problem is the mic picks up the desktop sound over a certain threshold. And it's a pretty low threshold. And it seems like this issue happens and then fixes itself with restarting the pc, but it's pretty infuriating still when your plug ins are in a difficult to reach place.

7.1 Surround Sound isn't showing as a playback device in RazerApplication(7.1 surround sound). It happened after recent windows update. Can't find the answer, tried everything.

I have a problem where my desktop audio gets picked up as mic input, so whenever I'm in a call everyone else in the call can hear whatever audio i'm playing. same problem when recording audio, it gets picked up as mic audio instead of desktop audio.

Idk if its just my headphones or me, but when audio plays on my headphones it sounds like theres an echo when its playing e.g. when playing a game the gunshots sound off and the movement isn't that accurate. Any help please?

I've tried plugging the kraken x into the front and back mic and headset jacks. It appears on screen every time as mic and headset. But my audio comes through my monitor so it never works. Is there anything I can do?

I have razer kraken x on 3.5mm jack and problem is when i install the driver the 7.1 surround sound i don't see in output devices 7.1. I tried everything reinstaling realtek etc etc. Windows just doesn't recognise 7.1 in output devices

At sound configs (where show all your sounds devices), the green bars of surround 7.1 are working but there's no sound going out of my headset. It seems that everything inside is working but i cant hear anything from my headset

Hey there. Just got my self a pair of Kraken X USB connector. But while gaming the volume adjusts itself and i cant hear a thing of them like someone walking near me or anything else. So any recommendation for this issue.

I have a taser kraken x v2 usb and it’s got great sound but I’m having issues where the mic is not picking up any vocal when recording. It’s like if I was on the other side of the room and yelling but it’s right next to my mouth how can I fix this?

im having a problem in the sound control panel in the "recording" section where there isn't a microphone to enable at all. there is this thing called a "jack mic" but it says "not plugged in".

Are their reported issues with the asus TUF B450-PLUS GAMING motherboard. Also when I connect the headset to my computer it recognizes instantly the mic and the headset audio but the mic does not work, however the Audio does work. Can someone please help I’ve tried many things but nothing works. Thank you.

I have a normal Razer Kraken 7.1, it's not Tournament Edition but it's got 7.1 surround sound, everytime I plug it in there's nothing that shows the microphone connecting. I've tried restarting my PC, replugging the cord, and even changing the splitter but nothing fixed it. Any solution?

Idk if it's just me but I have this issue with my headset where any audio playing even from chats like discord or the xbox game bar is also put through as the microphone independent of my actual mic audio, Edit. I found out the issue just in case someone else is experiencing the same problem as me it's not your headset not your pc having an issue, it's the splitter cable the came along with the headset so you just need to replace it and it should be fixed

So if anyone can help me, i have connected my headset to the rear port all the way, no gaps, but while the green bar shows up saying sound is coming in, all i hear is static buzzing noise and the mic is not working at all, i do not see the green bar when i talk

You must activate it with a code. If you didn't get the code in the box like me you must chat with the support. Then you can wait a few months when the support sends you the code, or threat them with sue for fraud, then it goes much faster.

i only have audio in my right headphone, the headset isnt faulty since i regularly use it on ps4 and it also doesnt pick up mic audio on pc edit:sound now work mic says its not plugged in

I think I fixed some issues but it’s sad because my EXTREMELY old turtle beach headset sounds so so much better than this but that shouldn’t be the case right? The only issue I’m having now is with the way things sound, can you help or anyone else having the same problem?

Well I dont know if this might help you guys. My gf had the same problem, what she did was plug it out, put in the ones on the front of the PC (not the one on the motherboard) and plugged it back into the motherboard one. I dont know how or why but it started fucking working again.

i have problems with my volume, everything im playing is in really low sound even when i totally mute my sound it keeps playing but at the same low volume. when turning it to 100% it does the same thing.

Hey, i did everything like u did in the video, but when i set my 7.1 device to default in the synapse app the sound dissappeares, tried different jacks and i still got this problem, every driver is up to date and everything worked with my previous headset so i dont understand whats the problem here...

I have fixed the audio but my problem Is the microphone. It is not picking anything up when i go to control panel > sound > recording. It doesnt turn green when i speak. And when i do the configure speech, it says it is too low. Help

Here's my problem, the thing is I have a camera, and it has a built-in mic in it, and it won't let me change my mic to my headset mic, and when I unplug my camera, the headset mic still doesn't work. I thought about getting a 3.55 to USB, I thought that would fix it, someone please give me suggestions, and tell me if I should get the 3.55 to USB convertor.

tried everything to make my mic louder, it is so quiet you barely hear it. it also picks up pc sounds which is quiet annoying, even tho i turned off the option of "listen in"

this might be a dumb question but does the headphones need 2 headphone jacks to plug in? I use a laptop and want to know if i need to use the splitter or if i can just use the normal cord

On a laptop you only need one 3.5mm audio jack. You will only ever need two on a pc when the audio jack and the mic jack are not together and that is when you'll need to use a splitter.

So I have this problem with my Kraken X lite, at first it was working perfectly, then I started hearing this cracking noise from the headset and I unistalled the audio driver and installed it again. Then the microphone said that it wasn't plugged in when it is connected. The cracking noise is still there but now the mic doesn't work, can anybody help me plsss
