When one door closes another one opens, it may not be tomorrow but it will come. I worked at the same job for 30 years I wasn't crazy about it either but it was financial security. I often wonder how my life would be different if I had quit and tried something else. Give yourself a chance to at least try. Be positive. Happy New Year! Cheers to new adventures

Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughtful comment, as you said, it's hard to take that step when we have the security and the other option is riddled with uncertainties. So if this hadn't happened I would probably have kept going for a bit longer, so in a way it was good that the choice was kinda made for me

Yes, I'm the same way with sewing. I hate to stop when I get into sewing. I lose track of time. Yes, I would have taken those jeans apart and fixed them then like you did. I only sew one thing at a time as well. I hate to stop sewing one project and start another. Good luck on your new pattern! I just started reading your jeans book! Happy sewing

Happy to hear we are kindred spirits 😊Yes it’s a bummer to having to redo something, but those hours are a minimal time investment compared to all the hours spent in something that’s not quite right

As other commenters have said, there is no difference in pronunciation. (Saying that as a "Scottish-Canadian". 😁) I love that you care enough to want to get it right. You do amazingly well with your English. Wishing you the best of luck with your ventures. ❤

New pattern sounds interesting. I pronounce iron and ironing the same way....... I-er-ning. I’m from south UK, but we have a lot of different accents throughout the country, so just say it how it comes naturally to you. We’ll know what you mean. 👍

Oh, I was so sad when I realized this video was about to end! That was really fun and I just wanted to keep watching your week unfold. I can’t wait to see your new pattern. And I’m like you, I go deep into the sewing zone. Often I will have no clue about how much time has passed until it’s gotten dark outside. 😂...and that whole “iron“ pronunciation is bizarre. We do pronounce the “r”, as native English speakers but it comes *after* the “o”... “iern” is how I say it for both meanings.

Thank you for clarifying this, I got confused because someone commented that I should pronounce it differently, but then it was just from their language perspective, say UK vs US for instance. And it makes me happy to hear you enjoyed the format, I've been watching a lot artist's and crafter's studio vlogs lately, and I think especially in times like these, this is such a great format, since it's so personal, friendly and inviting.

In the Southern US it's pronounced as one syllable for the appliance or the metal, either one. Your English is wonderful. My Swedish (or any other language is non-existent, so you got me there, lol.

I've had bad luck with paper cutters too. My favorite way to trim patterns is with a metal ruler and a craft knife (I like the Olfa ones). I can cut a number of sheets at a time and can get through a big stack very efficiently.

Yes, I -rn with the rn part pronounced as "urn". Eye-urn. Or I- earn. All sounds the same. But if you are saying "ironic" its eye RON ick. That might have been the confusion. I'm working on spanish. Your English is very good. After many decades, I've learned how to be ok with only working on a project for 5 or 10 minutes several days in a row, till I get a nice piece of time. It is better when I can get lost for hours in it!

What a lovely video. Looking forward to seeing more of you and the new design. By the way "iron" is pronounced the same way for either here, in UK. In fact the "r" is almost silent so sounds like "I - un" or "I-on" !! Couldnt think of a better way to describe it. Your English is excellent anyway, but I understand why you want to be precise!

@@Thelaststitch I suspect UK people to be peakier than US people with english. We live in the UK, my husband, who is a native US-English-speaker, gets corrected very often by his native UK-English-speaker coworkers. When I lived in the US, people kept telling me not to worry about my pronunciation because it was lovely and for sure they didn't want to offend me. Now I don't try to understand, when people correct me I answer "it's what I said" :-))
