I have so so so much respect for every woman who has been through the absolute horror or rape. And especially those who have the immense courage and bravery to report them, knowing it will involve having to face them in court and potentially, them not being convicted. I was raped and the two men who did it are still at large because I do not have the courage to report him. SO many women are threatened, as I was and it is just horrific in every way

I hope you can find some peace and happiness in your life. You may not agree with this but i feel that every act is recorded on some level and every effect of those acts are also recorded...the way a sponge soaks up water, all the emotional trauma is soaked up by whatever force controls this universe, some call it God. And the scales of justice have to be balanced, whether in this life or the next. There are universal laws and karmic laws. This is not just some new age crap, this has been present and part of the beliefs in holy books and ancient cultures for thousands of years. People who have died and been brought back have stated that this is the way it is. Past life therapy also shows this. The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people, who doesn't really believe in God, said that he felt the purpose of every human being is to try and live a happy life, no matter what suffering they experience. Easy to say i know but very very hard when faced with such trauma as you experienced. I am a man and i was assaulted more than once in the street, and on one occasion someone called the police and i also did not go through with pressing charges even though what happened to me was very slight compared with your experience. I don't believe it's always a lack of courage, i think many just prefer to try and move on rather than be traumatised all over again in court. But i hope you can find your way to some happiness in your life. God bless you

Another car crash you tube comments section here and this girl was 15 when it happened. People need to know that anytime, it's not OK to rape or sexually assault someone because they agree to meet you for a date or take their clothes off. Just because the girl agrees to meet for a date and would like to have sex, it's not an invitation for the guy to do whatever he wants & completely take advantage. A huge respect to this women, not everyone has the courage to speak, I wish i did. I was abused by my mother's boyfriend thrice. He did it for the first time on my birthday, i stayed silent. I stayed silent every time, i still don't have the courage to speak up about it to my mother. I cry to sleep thinking about it nearly every night. My mom and him are still together. I try this avoid him but end up getting scolded by my mom for "not being nice". I hate him so much at this point. When I'm around him, he gives my creepy looks and threatens me often. He didn't touch me again tho. It's been two years that happened and I'm 13 now. I feel better, it's the first time I've opened up this to anyone. If you're a sexual abuse survivor too, please don't end up like me! I believe in you and i love you

I stand with anyone who says they’ve been assaulted or abused, because I’d rather accidentally believe a potential liar than I would purposely tell a real victim/survivor that their story is false and they’re lying. I know first hand the pain that comes from being disbelieved by those closest to you. So I personally feel more comfortable believing people; it tends to do less harm overall.

How do you help a friend who's been a victim multiple times through out the years and is reluctant to seek help? She spends all her time either at home or doing inconsistent work and gets anxiety around others, does drugs to cope but claims to have stopped. Which looks like the case, when she did drugs she was happy but now always depressed.

also, i should add, it takes a while to get into the "online" portal. i used to go there, about two or three years ago. and could chat with someone usually within half an hour. unfortunately, however, the number of people being assaulted in today's society is sky-rocketing... i tried to go on a few days ago, and after waiting 2 hours, there were still "4" people "ahead of me"/waiting to chat with a trained sexual assault...person. try to be patient, and remember, you are NEVER alone

Why are they so unclear what they mean about sexual assault. Were they kissing and he grabbed her ass and she said no, or did he beat her up or try to rape her??? it's extremely unclear and the definition of sexual assault seems to be extremely broad, so being unclear about what happened takes away from the severity of the issue.

Causs sexual assault is broad term; forcible sexual contact with someone without their consent. It refers to various types of sexual assault. For example, forced penetration with genitals, fingers, foreign objects, or groping, rubbing, forced oral, forced handjob, etc. There’s many different types of sexual assault. Sure, some may be “less” traumatizing than others for certain people but regardless it’s still very traumatic. I don’t see why you believe that the broad term sexual assault makes the issue less serious?? That’s like saying “I don’t like the term Murder cause it’s too broad and removes the severity of the issue”. Sure, If I had to choose between being tortured then killed or being killed right away I would pick the 2nd. If I had to choose between being murdered by a bullet to the brain or murdered by choked to death, I would prefer to be shot in the brain, but at the end it doesn’t matter, it’s still murder😂. It’s still serious. It shouldn’t remove THAT MUCH severity of the issue because some ppl don’t wanna go into little details about their traumatic event.

I was raped when I was severely drunk and told the guy no multiple times and was too weak to physically stop him. That was my “first time”. Then, 1 year later I was on a date with a different guy who forced me to perform oral on him. Although both situations have left a lot of scars, they left scars in different ways. The first rape ruined the way I viewed sex. But the 2nd sexual assault really scared me because I was completely sober and conscious, so I can still remember the fear I felt. If I could get justice, I would want both of those men to be punished equally. Because both assaults were very traumatizing. My 2nd assault was not “less severe” because it was oral and not penetration as some people might assume. They were equally traumatizing to me.

Any victim no matter what age or sex should be heard. This wasn’t a video about male rape that wasn’t getting sympathy for male victims or anyone commenting on it in relation to male victims its just her personal account of what happened to her, so why you comment this when it’s not relevant to the content. There are many other videos by male survivors too on being a victim of sexual assault that it would be more appropriate to comment this on. Fact is there is a double standards to male sexual activity and to girl sexual activity. Boys/ men that speak up get listened to and believed more often but are often too embarrassed and afraid to come forward as with many girls/ women. For example you won’t hear what the guy was wearing or what underwear he had on when assaulted like all girls in court.,Mostly male rape/ sexual assault is perpetrated by other males. Kinda hard to give a date rape drug or have a guy so drunk he’s passed out and have sex with him as a female. 1:4/5 women 1:16 male rapes are the stats a lot are unreported because of the embarrassment and fear of not being believed he said / she said. One case I know of where a female school teacher got a lengthy sentence for having sex with students that were all 18 at the time and they claimed was consensual. It came to the attention of the school and authorities because the boys recorded it and showed it around boasting. There are many many double standards out there if you go looking. Unless you were actually female and lived the life of being harassed on a daily basis by males as your walking down the street going about your daily business , or the fear you have walking home at night even if a completely innocent male happens just to be walking behind you, you will probably never really understand. . I personally know a lot of women that have experienced sexual assault/ rape but I know no guy that discuses it or admits they were a victim. It’s not to say it hasn’t happened to any of them but women talk especially about how things make them feel and guys just don’t generally do that openly. There’s also the strength difference between men and women so very hard to push a determined guy off.

I went to a very similar boarding school, and it was talked about very often at my school. It was all about taking advantage of freshmen at St Paul’s.

Can I just remind people that A. "not guilty" isn't the same as "innocent" and B. Only 2-8% of all rape reports are false. Less than half of all rapes are reported, largely because people are scared of not being believed. If someone said they'd been robbed, you'd immediately believe them. Why should it be any different for sexual assault victims

In order to believe her story of being completely innocent and victimized, one has to believe that (a) she removed her clothing and/or assisted him in removing it, while at the same time (b) being motivated to do so out of the fear of otherwise "offending him". That seems preposterous to me. It is far more believable that she was willing to engage in sexual conduct with him. Yes, by NH state law, she was a few months too young to give legal consent, which is what the case hinged on, since he never used force. But her claiming to have been "victimized" is completely discredited by her behavior during and after the incident. There were no winners and frankly, no "good guys" in this story. Along with Labrie, the school, and her parents, she bears a certain amount of responsibility for her actions and words. And given that 15 (her age at the time) is the *average* age that American teens begin having sex, this is the sort of thing that could transform consensual sexual activity between those participants into life-ruining accusations, if the young woman is so inclined. By all means -- if a young woman (or man) is *forcibly* assaulted (as I suspect that Brett Kavanaugh did to Christine Blasey-Ford), they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But in *this* case, it is entirely a matter of what they said happened being at odds. She didn't report it as having been a sexual assault, she never said that she resisted, and there was no forensic evidence that supported her claims, so it was just her claiming that she said "no" three times, versus his claiming that she didn't. Unfortunately, that isn't proof of anything, but the law is a double-standard that privileges the testimony of women over men.

Especially if you are targeting underage girls for sex. Every decent guy I ever encountered knew this to be true.
