"Mental illness is a lot heavier and not as pretty as mental health" absolutely blew my mind. A whole mindset explained in a line, it was...amazing. This is why I always feel unheard when people say "take a break, you'll do okay" like, I can't take a break. You can't take a break from illness. I have to deal with it along with everything else in life, and people asking me to "take a break" without looking at the root of the problem that's causing the illness is quite pointless. Of course I'm not saying that they have ill intentions, but I do think that people only try to understand what is convenient for them and doesn't make them uncomfortable to think that there's another person suffering under the system. Idk if I was able to properly convey what I wanted to, but I just want to say that that line brought a lot of emotions out of me.

Cancel Culture basically doesn't exist at this point. I realised that no matter what some people do, they will get away with it because people get sentimental about that person; like how you grew up watching them or you watched their channel grow over the years etc.

I'd leave Jenna Marbles' name out of "people who were cancelled" list though. Her case was kind of different because she came forward herself and left youtube on her own accord. and i dont think people even wanted her to leave.

I gotta say, though she definitely made mistakes, especially when she was younger, I really don't think Jenna Marbles belongs in the same category as any of those other cancelled youtubers. She had taken down her really bad videos years ago, and only left up what she did to let other people see that growth. Honestly, I think we're worse off without her. I wish she'd come back instead of Dawson.

You're right on about him gaslighting his audience. I used to watch his skits as a dumb kid but after not paying attention to him for years I found myself revisiting his stuff when he was doing those docuseries a couple years ago and I was totally suckered into believing his "uwu I'm just a sassy wittle insecure gay empath 🥺😚👉👈" act and actually thought he seriously changed at one point. That not cool behind the scenes clip speaks volumes to who he really is..

I already agree with the title… It's just INSANE that Shane can come back and make videos like nothing happened. The things he did are unforgivable, but his fans act like it's okay… It makes me sick.
