What if Matt Ryan had gone against his coaches and ran the ball on one play when the Falcons were up 28-3 against NE? ALL analysts say the Falcons would have won that game, so we can’t say following every little thing management says is always right. Each situation is different and we have to put it in perspective. Last play of the game, Winston owned the responsibility, publicly apologized to his coach, and didn’t disrespect the opposing coach in the interview. Shannon is making way too much of this situation. I’ve been in leadership positions and made a decision or protest that management didn’t like, but they had to admit I followed protocol. What’s popular and traditional isn’t always right, and what’s right isn’t always popular.

The main thing to me is Jameis absolutely should have ran it by the whole team including the coaching staff. I can empathize with getting Jamal the TD and happy he got it, but it is absolutely an authority decision on what and what not to do scheme and play call wise. As much as I hate it, Pete Carmichael is the OC and Dennis Allen is the head coach. Once you go over the head of the people who are your boss all cards are off the table and you subject yourself to whatever happens after. Hope this doesn’t affect Jameis or anyone else but this rift between Dennis Allen and half of the locker room is gonna be a talking point all offseason including Jameis future with the team.

Jameis wasn’t great in Tampa but to act like the situation is the same between Jameis and Baker is disingenuous and Shannon knows it. Baker’s team has championship experience from the Brady years and doesn’t have to deal with the Drew Brees Saints, Matt Ryan Falcons or Cam Newton Panthers. That was the main reason why Tampa was ass for so long.

Bro HE THREW 30 INTERCEPTIONS! There was only 16 games at that time. That means at the very least he averaged 2 interceptions a game throughout the whole season. Imagine turning the ball over like that and giving the ball back to Matt Ryan and Drew Brees and you play those teams twice a year. No wonder why he couldn't make the playoffs as a starting QB. He was costing his team games and that is the very reason he is a backup QB now and will most likely be looking for a new job as a back up somewhere else.

The players are speaking from the emotional standpoint, but he undermined the coach. How can you trust someone on team that makes decisions that are solely based on individual wants. He had 17 weeks to score a touchdown. I’d be curious to know if Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees would’ve done that. Proven winners and leaders not your back up, quarterback, making that decision. How much pry are you gonna take as a player knowing that you scored a touchdown in victory formation anyway.

It’s also the principal and the respect you’re supposed to have for yourself by listening to your coach and also you’re opponent by not being in a formation that is known as victory formation because you could’ve got other people hurt on the other team when they’re just standing there waiting for victory formation while you’re actually trying to find a real play that’s fucking retarded
