Shady is a flat out hypocrite. He knows that's bs. He played rb. If every single tackler dove at his knees to injure him on purpose or if they did the same to the QB he would be the first one yelling about how dirty the player was, isn't it the other teams job to win at all costs? Even at the expense of someone's career? That's what Shady is saying. Sports is not conducted this way. Taking his point at face value bounty gate was perfectly ok. Intentionally injuring players is perfectly alright. Shady's POV is garbage.

Wrong person, wrong position since there aren't many rules protecting the ball carrier or running-backs in general. There are most def tacklers and defensive players looking to put players out of commission. Plus he's on record saying the game is way too soft in regard to the qb (hence why he dismisses Acho's qb analogy in this video). Now do I agree with him yes and no. Was the play dirty and disrespectful, yes. Do you have to be prepped for dirty players or the potential of em in games, most def.

Exactly. People are too focused on the wrong angle. I can tell you as a Saints fan that it was a simple matter of the team trying to look out for Jamaal Williams, who had an TD incentive. It wasn’t so much they were trying to be disrespectful or dirty, they were trying to do right by their teammate. Besides, people can say what they want about Dennis Allen’s predecessor, but the team would’ve never went rogue on Sean Payton. That should tell anybody what they need to know about Dennis Allen’s “leadership”.

He had his gloves down so I do consider it dirty because although Ortiz did foul him, he was being over apologetic and mayweather knocked him while he tried to apologize one more time. I remember a few years ago the Bucs (I believe under Greg schiano) would try their hardest to force a fumble on victory formation and the football world went nuts saying it was bad and it’s time to give up in that situation. If you’re supposed to always be ready on victory formation then you can’t be mad when teams rush the qb out of that formation too

I see a lot of people not understanding/ignoring the point. And acho explained it well, nobody cares that the saints scored. It’s the way in which you scored. There is a right and wrong way to do things. And the saints did it the wrong way. It was deceitful and disrespectful. They violated a league tradition and understanding that your not running a legit play when you are in that formation. They spit in the face of good sportsmanship.

The issue isn't really about fake V formation but the players go against their head coach Dennis Allen's call. What kind of respect do they have for their head coach? If a team fakes a victory formation, all their opponents should take it as a green light to go all out when the QB is trying to take a knee moving forward. I said the same thing when I saw a QB fake a slide and then score. If I was the opponent, I would have taking the 15 yard penalty the next time he slid, just to send him a message that you invite people to injure you when you do something shady like that.

If teams start running plays out of Victory Formation, then don't be surprised when defenses no longer respect Victory Formation as a soft play. When offensive players start getting hurt because when they are actually in Victory Formation and the defense still goes full speed, remember when the Saints opened these floodgates.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned this yet, or thought to say it on air. But if the Saints were lined up in any other formation, except for victory, then the coach would know that they had something up their sleeve and call a time out. for them to be able to accomplish what they needed to which was get Jamal Williams a touchdown they had to run out of the formation that the coach called.

Exactly this! I'm sure the players weren't thinking about the look of it... They wanted to get Jamaal the TD and knew if they lined up the coach would've stopped it. The story is that Dennis Allen has no control over his players and nothing else.

But I do have a problem with the excuses. Jamie need to just say man I haven’t played all year. I wanted to feel like I at least did something. My problem with the offensive mindset of “then stop us” is that you aren’t keeping the same energy for jamaal williams who you were getting the td for. If your mindset is just stop us then your mindset for the offense should be to earn it. Jamaal ain’t special. I guarantee you there’s other guys on that offense who didn’t get tds this year. He should have to earn it just like everyone else. So to line up in victory formation and make the defense think you’re kneeling it out and get basically an uncontested td for a guy who didn’t earn it is bogus. Line up in a regular formation and make him earn the td and 2 yards.
