Shaolin Soccer Movie Description:
Shaolin Soccer (Chinese: 少林足球) is a 2001 Hong Kong sports comedy film directed by Stephen Chow, who also stars in the lead role. A former Shaolin monk reunites his five brothers,[note 1] years after their master's death, to apply their superhuman martial arts skills to play football and bring Shaolin kung fu to the masses.

While I found this movie crying funny too and find there's nothing technically wrong, I think I like Kung Fu Hustle better. While clearly a master kung fu and comedic director, Stephen Chow can really write romance. I honestly find the love story in each movie believable.

Please consider watching LEGEND (1985). DIRECTED by Ridley Scott, and staring Tom Cruise and Tim Curry.

周星馳以前有部破壞之王，還有食神，功夫也很厲害又搞笑，是另部我最喜愛的電影，推薦你喔 Stephen Chow There used to be a King of Destruction and God of Cookery. Kung Fu is also very powerful and funny. It is another favorite movie of mine. I recommend you.

I hate Kung Pow. Stephen Chow has proven that you can spoof kung fu without cutting up and adding to someone else's movie. This isn't a "culture appropriation" complaint, but my gripe is about artistic values.

A humourous fan dubbing and/or abridged is one thing. I can honestly get behind them. However Kung Pow was done in poor taste, because of all the extra scenes added and people digitally inserted over other people. Localization similar to Kung Pow was considered "out of style" full decade before this movie came out. There's a good reason why there isn't a "Kung Pow 2" yet.
