Sharon Redd (October 19, 1945 - May 1, 1992) was an American singer from New York. She was the half sister of R&B singer Pennye Ford.

Just discovered Sharon redd in the last couple of years, from a soul radio station - two great tracks of hers are this one and "Can you Handle It". Sad to hear she passed of AIDS, far too soon. Great music - high energy, catchy, positive.

I love this era and style of disco: Chemise, Evelyn "Champagne" King, Patrice Rushen, Shalamar. Been to lots of fun DJ nights but I have not been blessed TO HEAR THIS BEFORE!!! Praise God!!!! And bless you all that have ears to hear this!!!

This song teleports me to the eighties and nineties and 2022❤❤❤. I boarded a Taxi in Zambia Southern Africa and behold greatness and memories just overwhelmed me and upon return I searched and was saddened to learn that she passed many years ago but. Still had a moment of silence for this queen. Rest easy. Your voice still speaks for you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Her song "In The Name Of Love" puts me in a dream-state every time I hear it. I remember hearing it a lot when I first started going to the clubs in 1982. I would almost sell my soul to the devil to go back for just one night.
