HOW TO LINK TEXT OR IMAGES TO A DROP-DOWN LIST SELECTION IN MS WORD - CREATE FILLABLE FORMS // Learn make text or an image appear in your document based off what a user selects from a drop-down list. This video will show you how to do this using a Time-Off Request Form where different instructions and time off reasons appear if a user selects the employment status of Full-Time vs. Part-time. This technique can be used to also insert a particular image file depending on the drop-down item selected. We review this using signature image files at the end of this form.

No matter how many times I try, when I hit tab it jumps to the next drop down list on the page and the text does not appear. 😕

For everyone struggling to get their text to show up. You cannot use a "new controls" version of the text content control boxes, you must use a "legacy" text field (form control) to tab to.

I don't get it. I'm doing everything exactly the same as instructed. But my text won't show. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I'm on Office 365. But I did use the old dropdown list.

My text won't update without me having to manually right click and click "Update Field". What am I doing wrong? I'm pulling my hair out here

I'm not sure why this isn't working for me. I've done it 5 times, watching spacing and naming conventions - no love.

This is not working for me...the text does not display after choosing the option from the drop-down list and tabbing to the field

This solution does not seem to work anymore. The IF statement no longer seems to be able to read the drop down thus after you tab out nothing occurs

My code works, but they don't update without right clicking and forcing it. What am I missing? Is there a way to do with without having to tab through? If it doesn't automatically populate AND my team forgets to tab, we are in bad shape.

Good Morning everyone!! I have a problem... I need the data to update automatically as it appears in the video, my problem is that when I select an option they are not updated and to see what changes I have to right click and select an option from "update fields"... I am not interested in this solution, is there a way to do it automatically? THANK YOU PEOPLE!!!!!

We provide scripts to our managers during separations conversations. What we say depends on certain aspects of the separations. This will be a perfect way to create an automated script that varies depends on the circumstances of the separation! So thankful this popped up in my recommended!
