@@parkrein1237 Can't say for sure what the original commenter meant, but for me, the use of casual, modern slang seems jarringly out of place in this very formal setting. It's very hard to imagine these ladies offhandedly saying "guys", "piss off", or "got it" (in response to the emperor, no less!). Every culture in every time period has had its own linguistic quirks and shortcuts, and some translators or dialogue writers do use "modern" language to convey the desired effect, but it's not always a good fit for the mood of the setting or scene.

Yeah, but it is a fiction. The real history of these women was roughly the opposite to this drama.

Well, in real life also women is against women most of the time.

Well except the parts with Hailan and Ruyi. Their relationship I find the real love of the story and it’s beautiful how devoted and loyal they are to each other. Hailan finds her strength to protect Ruyi even risking her own child and Ruyi would risk coming to a fight with any of the harem or royal doctors to protect Hailan. They’re really a beautiful pair and I wish they had ended them on a better note, especially considering how cruel and evil all the other women to each other. At least the second best pairing, Ruyi and her final maid the one who kills herself at the end (I forget her name), do sort of end better since I can sort of picture them going on together in the afterlife

@@ra_808 I do find friendships with men are far better then women. If your best friend ended up falling for your boyfriend or husband they may try to go for him, putting themselves first above your friendship and relationship. Men don’t have that sort of drama and I prefer it that way.
