An awful lot of high powered people and casting directors helped this gross thing with what he did… they all knew and said nothing…casting directors sent women to see him knowing they would be attacked. He did not see these woman as human beings… the level of his depravity is beyond criminal. I can’t get past other women knowingly setting other women up for such a thing… even after they got famous they didn’t stop him. All the men who didn’t punch him in his gross face.

Great review as always you two! Who will profit from this film? Every cent should go to the victims of this crime who were not famous and suffered.

Absolutely 💯 agree with you on that sentiment. The victims (cum healthy survivors, hopefully, eventually) should be financially compensated via all profits made from this film.

Given the subject matter and the inherent "meta"-ness of it, I think it was a HUGE missed opportunity not to cast women who's careers were halted or severely impacted by Harvey Weinstein, beyond Ashley Judd. Think how many careers never even began because they refused to comply with his demands. Not only do I think it would have made the movie "put its money where its mouth is," but I think it also would have benefited by having those unknown actors. As much as I love Carey Mulligan, in this role I can't not see Carey Mulligan playing an investigative journalist; etc. I wasn't a huge fan of Bros, but I was really moved in a meta sense by the entire main cast being lgbt. I think something similar could have been accomplished here.

The main problem is directing and editing. Apart from that this movie could have worked, but alas, it was not in the stars.

Just saw this film and Joseph took the words right out of my mouth. The film portrays the New York Times as this beacon of light, and they do deserve praise and credit for bringing down Weinstein, but they have issues that are not properly represented in the film. Heck, they bring up how the publication made a mockery of Rose McGowan, yet the film portrays the Times reporters as superheroes. I didn't buy it either lol

Love your content. But I'll have to skip this one. No movie studio should make any money selling the stories of disgusting people who harm others and get away with it until they're so old it no longer matters.

To be fair, this movie will make this subject matter relevant 50 years from now. I agree with Joseph that it should have been a documentary, BUT a feature film will get a LOT more views now and in the future... And it's important to talk about it and know about it and a movie is a great place to start. Just like Spotlight, Indian Horse or Dark Waters.

I think it's nice that more attention is being brough to the issue but I think personally I'm going to skip this one. The Me Too movement came to a head around the same time that I was dealing with a lot of personal trauma of the same nature. I remember being glad about it being addressed but also wanting to avoid it because for me being surrounded by story after story felt like being constantly retraumatized. I hope that people keep talking about it but it's just not something I want to watch. I'm not surprised it was a bit of a miss. It's such a difficult story and also very recent so I think it would be super difficult to get right.

Listen, I need y’all to have your own movie review show on Logo. Wasn’t Logo supposed to be the channel for us gays? Now it’s nothing but repeats of Mama’s Family and Three’s Company, chile. I just discovered y’all and your reviews are not only on point, but balanced with blunt critique and perfectly timed shade from Joseph, and critical analysis from Nick. I love it., and I had a feeling She Said was gonna be subpar.

You are too generous. This movie is dull dull dull. I agree with Nick that the earnestness was soul-crushing. This was like a sanctimonious pious sermon. It might make MSNBC viewers swell with righteousness but jeez as a movie - it's just there sitting there on the screen.

I didn’t have any faith in this film knowing Brad Pitt produced it. Pretty convenient Angelina isn’t portrayed in the film? From the trailers and the timing it felt very Hollywood and opportunistic, but that’s just what I gleaned. Great review as always ❤

Thank you. I actually liked the movie, but as soon as the credits roll we see “Produced by Brad Pitt” … Uhmm, COOL! Way to completely undermine the message. It would’ve been nice to see Rose, Annabella Scioria, and other survivors in this film.

I’m a little confused? It sounds like they just left out Ronan Farrow and how he was really the one who did the heavy lifting in regards to exposing Harvey and it sounds like he’s not in the movie at all?? Are they only crediting the women who took down Harvey?? And what is the point of that? Have not seen the movie yet so don’t know just asking?

Watching you guys is kind of like watching two friends talking about your likes & dislikes about a movie you just saw. Very casual and and natural not hyped up and commercialized which ads to your channel's appeal and charm. I also like the dynamic you two bring to each video and while I am not entirely sure you two are a romantic couple - which seems to be the assumption people will have when you're dealing with two gay hosts versus a male and female straight duo hosts whom are often just friends - but I can not help but pick up on what to me seems to be playful tension and maybe even a bit of a power struggle a bit with Joseph coming off as the alpha of the group but not overwhelmingly so. It almost seems like you two can not stand each other but put up with one another for our sake. But all relationships (gay, straight, romantic or platonic) can be some times. Nevertheless your channel is very entertaining and enjoyable as much as it is informative!

Is this too little too late? I just feel like this story has been told, re-told and now yet again told. I don’t care anymore!!!!! While I am sympathetic to all who were harassed and done wrong; it’s just time to move on for me. I really appreciated an interview with Angie Dickinson where she said” An open robe is NOT SEXUAL HARASSMENT!!!!! My whole issue is who in their right mind would go to a hotel room ALONE with a VERY POWERFUL man with a bad reputation? Come on!!!!! Again, I don’t doubt the crimes and wrongdoing but again is it too little too late?

Sounds like this would've been better served as a miniseries. For such an important story of our time it's really unfortunate the execution was not up to par considering they had good talent in front of the camera. Hope a different team gets to redo it in a better way in the future so that there's no question it's a great movie the next time.

I just saw it and found it moving along with others in the theater. Going back in time with some of the victims was effective because people can judge them as mature women for things that happened to them while really young but seeing young women in those situations gives you a different perspective.

I hated this movie. Usually I have a soft spot for journalism movies but this one missed the mark. Could feel it stroking it’s own ego the entire time. I like Carey Mulligan but hated this character. :) Both of you have a knack to pin-point scenes that should 'explain' (systems/procedures) to the ordinary viewer, but end up *not* doing that. It's (most probably in my opinion) saying, the 'media/law support mechanism' if it is to work, the victim has to communicate effectively first. :) Here, the topic is valid/controversia/current, and seeking accountability - and the movie 'frustrates' both of you ! :)
