Well if he graduated high school at 18, that’s only 6 years to get all the way to a doctorate. Most people take 8. So it can be assumed that he completed his bachelors, masters, and PhD all in 6 years. That would require you to be significantly smarter than most people, to either combine the levels of coursework it takes to get that much done in only 6 years instead of 8. Or, he was allowed to skip the masters and go straight to the PhD program, and that typically has to be approved by a lot of different people at the university, because they don’t want to invest the time and resources into a PhD candidate, only for them not to be able to finish. And I know all this because I was a PhD applicant straight from my bachelors program, but was only offered a slot in the Masters program, despite graduating Suma Cum Laude (I literally finished every single class with an A except for one and even that was a B). So yeah. To do what Leonard did, you’d probably be smarter (academically) than most people in a room.
