I don't really like the way this encaustic shellac burn piece turned out, but that's ok, because it was really just an experiment to see if I could shape my shellac burns. There were some obstacles to overcome, but overall it was a successful art experiment and I'm really glad I tried it, even though I was a little afraid to try.

Shellac dots or lines from an eye dropper might be neat to try.

I use about 1/4 tsp colored powder to a 1/2 cup of shellac

I wonder if isopropyl alcohol on a q-tip would clean up the leaked shellac, without having to scrape?

what does 3 pound refer to?

That is the cut of shellac that I'm using. It means I'm using 3 pounds of shellac for every gallon of denatured alcohol to make my solution.
