Long overdue for a hike, we had a small window of opportunity to head out to one of our favorite local trailheads for some much-needed Forest Bathing, Shinrin Yoku. There is nothing like immersing oneself deep within a cool, dense forest for some relaxation.
Evergreen, Colorado offers many trails in which one can easily escape modern life while not having to travel several hours from the city (Denver) to get there. O'Fallen Park, part of the Denver Mountain Parks system, is a great escape, especially if you are looking to spend time in a cool dense forest! Go early, during the week, and you will likely enjoy the trail to yourself and the surrounding abundant wildlife. Wildflowers, birding, wildlife, creeks and a soft forest floor await, go take a bath in nature.
