This is the first video that I planned to make. But first of all, I experimented on how different it would be if creators made videos to showcase a pair's bond, rather than proving a relationship status. I wanted to show that it's possible to do it; that even after watching this, nothing will change because it's just as it is. I hope this reaches the biggest shippers' audience cause the way you present is always informative, wise, and healthy perspective, and all those ship videos only emphasize skinship, portrays JK as a lost boy who is always in one-sided love, always jealous when someone touches his so-called lover seems so sick and ignorant to me. Also, the ludicrous comments about their ship are real based on gazing or touching is ridiculous. I ship Jinkook cos of their strong bond, which is mostly seen behind the scenes. About the quora thing, you're right there are people who actually writes long paragraphs with such convincing tone about how their ship is so real and then I kinda feel sad that how far these people have come with all this, which is not good for your mental health.

I would say don't ship, but rather sit back and support. Even if we think a specific pair is real, discuss them quietly among your moots and just don't shove it to the members in vlive and weverse, or making it trending worldwide. I've seen even for friendship ships, a member could've get bashed. And i also majorly blamed the company for releasing questionable videos that feeding toxic shippers and shipwars. BTS these days are stressing the word 'we are in strictly business relationship' didn't came out out of nowhere.

My Utt is Jin; so i love seeing his interaction with all the members. The friendship I like the most is between Jin and Jk; I think he's really genuine. And I've even cried watching taekook videos where they called Jin various horrible things; for example in the video post behind the scenes Jin was hugging Tae and there were many nasty comments saying that he was abusing Tae a nonsense without size. In my opinion this obsession is something unhealthy; and you have to be very careful.

P.S. This is going to be a long comment since I love writing essays and you are amazing at what you are doing as a content creator😅 Although I was introduced to kpop by chance few years back it's only recently that I started to follow it more closely owing to surge in BTS popularity and then I read about their journey. It was so amazing and inspiring that it really made me do a double take and I started consuming more of their contents because they seemed to be a breath of fresh air among celebrity culture. They have a extremely high entertainment value and I did notice their close bond which if you are mature enough will understand is not all for the show and tell. Then I came across Jin and his energy just lit me up in a positive light. So I searched for more contents about him since he seems to have many layers and I bumped into many contents some bordering near obsessive and creepy scale as searching jin would inevitably lead to jikook due to youtube algorithms and then the rabbit hole of ships. So I saw quite a lot of them but Jin and Jungkook really stood out to me and I cannot explain as to why. Each of the members have a beautiful story with each other which cannot be replicated. I believe in matters of heart it's better to leave it at that without over analysing because we as consumers can never understand it fully even if we try to as some piece of the puzzle will still be missing. So to end this essay, I just wish all the members of BTS achieve what they wish to and their hearts be filled with happiness and their lives content and as for Jin and Jungkook, whatever their bond might be I wish it flourishes as it has and has stood the test of time and if someday they wish to share something to the world from their personal lives, I will be watching and cheering with the widest smile and even if not, I will continue to support these amazing members of BTS as I believe them to be one of the finest examples of celebrities using their Fame and reach for biggest positive Impact and changing views and mindsets of people everywhere.

One of my highschool friend whose ultimate bias is Taehyung and is literally obsessed over TaeKook and posts atleast 5-10 status about them, mostly edited. She believes they are together and her world revolves around them. She even broke up with her bf who questioned about her unending status on Taehyung on Whatsapp. She puts status like Taehyung is mine and mine only. I think she believes Taehyung is hers but deep inside she knows it can't be true. So ships him with Jungkook so she won't loose Taehyung to anyone else. I don't know how to make her see the reality and idols have their own lives. I hope people like her can accept reality and lead a healthy life. I personally like the bond between Jinkook and some other like Jessi and Sangyeob and more...But that doesn't mean they're together or have to be together no matter what. It's just my personal liking towards an imaginary couple... And its humane to ship two people regardless of gender if we love both of them and their bond. But it doesn't have to be toxic. You can like them and respect them. And don't get obsessive over them. Just support them and love them for who they're.

When I first saw your video almost a year ago, I was amazed with how you presented Jinkook bond. Back then I haven't dig dive a lot of BTS contents, now since I have the mood and the time to watch some of the contents. After watching most of the contents, I love all of their bonds and I don't really over analyse, just sit back and enjoy the contents they are providing. Thank you for this video! I've always thought that the obsession of some fans with ships is weird, when I see the videos that fans make to prove their ships I find those videos ... Funny? Because all their interactions are taken out of context and put on a romantic level. It's strange for me because I usually hug, bite, caress my friends, it's normal to have a certain level of closeness with friends from my point of view, that's why when I see these videos I don't find sense in them. I think some Army forget that all the content we see from bts is work, it's edited and prepared for the fans, on the other hand some fans forget the fact that BTS has life outside the group, that they are real people with friends, family and maybe different partners. It bothers me a lot that some fans see BTS as objects, as characters in some fan fic without taking into account that human beings are complex and that real life is far from fiction. This obsession with analyzing the guys' every move and portraying them as jealous and possessive (especially Jk) bothers me too much.... If a bunch of strangers were analyzing every single thing I do on the internet I would feel very uncomfortable, it must be the same for BTS. In my case I love JinKook and yoonjin, they are my fav duos of BTS, I think any of them are a couple? No. It's impossible to say something like that about someone I don't know, could there be a possibility? Of course there is, it's just that it's something that as fans we will never know and we don't need to know because it's none of our business , there are limits that as fans of them we shouldn't cross.

Great work again as always. One thing I really loved that you mentioned here was the jealousy section. It has always been unsettling for me how people can advertise a toxic behavior as jealousy to prove their ship is real. It's true that all couples face some phases of jealousy in their relationships, but the extent these shippers go is beyond one could actually bear in life... Like if what they say is real, then the two people in the relationship should definitely break up because that amount of jealousy just creates a whole damn toxic relationship.

The good thing it's when I get into the content of fanservice I was already aware and the western industry already use it a lot. I think more people need to consider the way they consume media of any type.

I used to see all videos about seokjin's relationship with members.. At a time i was so confused why both taejin/Namjin is real?? I didnt know fan shipped idol romantically. My 1st encounter with shipper starts with jinkook. I was so angry when i suddenly saw a video taking about they are in a relationship. Then somehow i take it easily later. Then i was so torn between taejin and namjin. I was trying to understand the things back than, and both have similar content, lot of analysis. I watched their analysis without knowing they actually trying to prove their relationship. I just like to see him interacting with others. I dont remember exactly how overcome this and jinkook took my all interest. Since they are actually have a strong and unique bond. And then i watched a lot of analysis about jinkook too. They make it like all other ship, analysis every single look, touch and smile. But honestly it irritates me now to see those analysis . I have a resentment against taekook/jikook. I dont know, but it bothers me. Well its not my fault that, i feel irritated to see how a big amount of army are taking it wrongly and attacked the other members for their stupid shipment. This topic definitely needed to be addressed now that BTS are in NYC, as even after repeated warnings and plead not to mob them in airport, a lot of fans went to the airport, followed them to the hotels and stalked them the entire time. So much so that BTS apparently had to be led to the closest car and rushed off. People were sharing video on twitter later and asking if their ship was together in the car or not. The agency also had to release the room pairings in the hotel which some people claimed to be false later. I am tired ,, I just want people to grow up in this fandom or atleast learn from other armies, specially the purple ribbon project.

Wow I'm in awe by how you deliver the messages and also present it so well! It's true that as a baby army, I once was bombardered by so many shipper contents that it blurred my view in watching bangtan's contents, I tend to do overanalyze everything and seek a glimpse of my favorite pair "moments". But the more I did it, the more I got overwhelmed and lost, and it finally came with understanding that of course I dont know anything about them and my expectation itself ruining the delight of watching beautiful bond the members build for more than 10 years. Releasing my grip from shipping and giving full attention to all the members instead really relieve my nerve and make me love them more. Since I'm Jin biased, now I feel like I love all the ship possible with him--I mean, friendship, comradery, or any other relationships possible too, be it platonic or romantic, I dont care as long as I see him and the members happy and comfortable to each other presences!

I have to say that this is THE BEST VIDEO I have ever seen!!! It should be shown on national television to educate people about shipping content and ship wars. Your complex thought process, how you position arguments without getting sidelined and just staying neutral are incredible. Please continue doing so. I will be sharing this on my social media channels to continue to raise awareness to this matter. It has completely gotten out of hand to the point that I am getting turned off by Bangtan Army and the views and the arguments that I see on Twitter. It's really too much and we don't need to know everything because they have the right to their privacy just like we have the right to ours. However, understanding how the industry works and respecting them first and furthermost as artists, is what should be happening in the fandom at this point in time. Like you said, the fandom is not growing with the group and that is concerning. I am hoping things can change for them so that they can continue making music and being the artists they want to be.

To start off, encountering a very toxic shipper won't be rare for any of us these days. Their scary obsession with their fave's "lovelife" creeps the hell out of me. This is very problematic practice for it builds an unreasonable hatred towards other members, that even themselves can't notice. You could see a very huge difference between a toxic shipper and a chemistry enjoyer. Funny how these people believes a cut scene where their two faves were staring at each other for merely 5 seconds. It only takes their analyst seconds to slow these scenes down, put a slow music, and these obsessive shippers call this "sexual tension". What I also hate is when these people go on different channels, watching other ships have a common interaction then develops a hatred for those member who "hinders" their ships romantic interactions, that was not even there in the first place. I really feel bad for these people who fall into traps. Editor would literally just slow a scene down, put a slow music then title it as their ships "sexual innuendos". They even go to the extent of believing their ship went for a quickie during a fcking live concert's break! But what fuels the fire is when these uncontrolled frustations caused by the lack of their ship's clips to satisfy their buds, leads them to attacking the other band members. For instance, these past weeks, I remember seeing toxic j'k-ers, hating on j*n and calling him "disrespectful" and a hindrance to the relationship of their pair. Saying j*n fcking forces himself to j*k, when in reality the bond they've shared was mutual. They clearly enjoy each others company. It triggers them seeing j*k interacts with j*n after the guy told everyone he was bitten by j*m. See? Their excessive analizations leads them to thinking someone's relationship and chemistry with others is annoying and a nuisance when they are literally just enjoying each other's company. This is why I stayed long in this fandom. We look for real interactions. Real chemistry. We love seeing our having fun in whatever they do. And the happiness they feel when they're with each other. I really love it when you stated that ALL SHIPS ARE REAL. To me, that is true because they all have real close bonds with each other. That doesn't mean that they are in a relationship with each other, and even if they are, its none of our business. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this as i am a self proclaimed Jinkook shipper. When i came into the fandom i only knew of the bigger ships and yes i am watching their videos and analysis. I enjoyed most of it but felt uncomfortble on some. I never shipped them nor believe in its so called "romantic vibe" but i have always praise the whole group and been stanning them for yrs. But its the same big ship that introduced me to Jinkook. I honestly saw the big difference of each analysis, hence i started watching all Jinkook channels, furthermore the comment sections established a matured group of fans that really earned my respect. However in some recent events i noticed that some channels videos are bordering to the toxic shipping concept that instigate ship wars. It started to mirror the manner of some delusional shippers contents. I always thought shipping is beautiful no matter the scripted narrative behind it or maneuvered skinship by its label for business gain is. But shipping can be so ugly and dark when fans starts to go overboard and reach the highest form of delusion resulting to spreading hate on some members. I do not blame the label in this sense bec as fans we always have our choice not to get too invested on speculations and theories.This shipping agenda of some labels had long existed even before BTS debuted. Its part of their entertainmnt culture therefore Shipping is just part of this whole fandomhood. We are mere spectators. Its our choice to stan the artist and believe in them but its not our call to make marionettes out of these artists. I hope all fans can get a glimpse of this video🙏. We can always make this fandom a delightful place to share our common love for our artist.

You're right on all counts. I love Jinkook with all my heart, but the shipping 'ways' and even some Jinkook creators nowadays just focused too much on 'Jealousy'. The content a shipper releases should be made with consideration to the truth, because they're actually talking about a real person's life. But now Jk has become the poster boy for this 'jealousy' campaign when the boy is just spacing out or being silent. Like, can't he be silent if he actually doesnt need/want to talk? They make up these crazy theories that JK gets mad or jealous once members touch Jin, but aren't they all friends? In order to prove that their ship is real, they make all these crazy assumptions. Some even just to gain views and subscription. They'd say 'if you don't like this video get out then'. I get it that everyone has freedom to do what they like, but is it right to do so with no regards about all the misinformation they're spreading? Where is the accountability in that? Some shippers even go so far as hating/ disliking Taehyung for being too close to Jin that he is somehow ''blocking'' Jk or creating distance. Some detest Jimin too saying that he is sticking too much to Jk or manipulate his time or something. I'm really glad somebody addressed all these crazy trend of creating something out of nothing. They should really try to understand Jk's mannerism/ behavior before even implying anything about him or his feelings. Jin has escape most of these assumptions because he is adept at making his expressions neutral and has kept his emotions in check. He keeps his private life, private, and only spilled things about himself that he is comfortable sharing. Jin always know how and where to draw boundaries, and I hope the rest of Jinkook shippers, or every shipper out there change how to make their content, and live by this principle.

That was a great video. I think it should be shared more and more. We fans need to learn that we see what the company or artist chooses to show us. Most of the interactions in front of camera are scripted and rehearsed. I feel sad when such content is mercilessly dissected to promote a narrative or for clickbait. Everything your favourite artist says or does should not be sensationalised. I hope more people can learn to love and appreciate the art, rather than meddle with or pry upon the personal lives of the artists.

Very informative, very precise. it helps me understand so many things about shipping. I"m a new fan that's why ive watched BTS from the very beginning to understand better. I'm not into ships really, Only this time that I came to see all this analysis about Jinkook, and watched almost all the analysis about them and it helps me to really see diff. perspective on how to believe and not be blind by all of these ships everywhere. I'm also Asian and ever since the first day I saw BTS' videos, I've never even thought of them being queer or weird whenever they hug or touch each other. It just looks wholesome, funny and heart warming to me especially when I see JinKook, you can see that they're very close to each other and all the members as well so I don't get why people keep on analyzing and assuming something that doesn't even exists. People should know when to stop doing things that could potentially affect idols relationships and careers. People need to know about their boundaries.

Just sharing my thoughts: 1) Quora is an English platform. Very few Koreans will go to Quora and leave answers in English. Coz English is not their native language. The so-called insiders are probably just making up nonsense. Pple really should not take Quora too seriously. 2) Ship war is akin to pple leaving hate comments on one another’s social media platforms. This happens everywhere and not just on Kpop related contents. That’s the cons of social media - if u put contents out there, there r bounds to be negative comments and pple fighting in the comments section. I dun think such behavior will ever change. Hmm, I can only say it’s in the makeup of the DNA. 3) Fan-service - it’s part of their job. Say if u r a pornstar, your job is to perform sexual acts for audience. U dun get to pick your acting partner or the script coz it’s decided by the director/company. U just hv to follow the script and act. Fan service is not much different. 4) Western fans - Though i’m Asian, I can understand y western fans may misinterpret certain interactions as romantic/ sexual. Tbh, can’t blame them. The agencies feed their fantasies by asking their idols to perform certain role/ concept/ skin ship. So end of the day, its just a vicious cycle. 5) Shipping - this is really an uniquely kpop thing. What you point out about shipping is so true. Your video made me think a lot as always. A non-Korean like me was first surprised to see so much touching, hugging (sometimes playful kissing) and saying Saranghae to each other among the members. This video is timely, too, because the clip from the Year of 2020 showing JK with a bruise on his neck and JM explaining about what happened stirred the shippers on Twitter. A fan who understands the Korean language was complaining why they didn't put the translation of what Jin said in the subtitles. She claimed that J said "Shall I bite the other side?" When I first saw this video, I was a little sad as to what J must have felt when he saw the bruise. But it made me feel much better to know if he could joke like that. Those who do not understand the Korean language could miss things and nuances in the Bangtan videos and it could make shipping more complicated. I'm a baby Army, and I came to know about GCF Tokyo trip through the fancam of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics G-100 concert that showed J being distant to JK. That made my impression of JM, to tell you the truth, but now I am learning that J and JM are very close. If I had seen the members going through difficulties and supporting each other for a long time, I would have reacted differently to the jikook trip.

I have always said that I don't ship Jin and Jungkook...or any of the members. I just don't think that it would be right for me to make implications about a supposed romantic relationship between any of them...when they themselves haven't come out and said they're dating. I also think that the shipping has really gone too far. When it gets to the point of members being threatened, bashed, and just down right hated for no other apparent reason than they aren't supporting or are interfering in a shipping narrative...that's when imo it's gone too far!
