I had Covid for about 90 days till I finally got the zpak and it took it away...This was back in the beginning of 2020...It’s now February of 2021 and my hair is noticeably thin. I am hoping this means I am at the end of the hairloss and I’m just now noticing it. But holy crap it’s so thin!

I had low grade fever one day bad headache loss of smell and taste. My husband had it worse , so I did worry about him , so it could have been stress from that and stress from the virus , but my hair is growing back. And filling in slower than I would like but I am starting to feel relaxed about it. Dermatologist said it’s called telefilm effluvium, temporary hair loss from a stressful event ,

Look into cell salts, specifically Silicea. I too am trusting the LORD and looking to the natural remedies. I felt very depleted after my bout with Covid last month and I asked our Father to lead me in what to do. I felt this inner wisdom spring up that I need to focus on replenishing my trace minerals and drink lots of water. I came to learn about the importance of these basic salts in our bodies. One theory is some people types burn through the cell salt #12, Silicea, in particular during times of stress; Silicea in our bodies helps maintain our healthy hair growth so it makes sense that depleting our reserves could potentially have something to do with the hair loss. I’m personally taking all twelve of the cell salts in a combined formula called Bioplasm from Hyland’s homeopathic to help restore my electrolytes and hopefully encourage cellular repair throughout my whole system. I am also taking bone broth with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar daily. Additionally, I’m planning to make myself a great big pot of borscht and freeze daily portions as I felt directed to do that as well to restore the health of my cardiovascular system since I have also been experiencing heart palpitations since Covid (which I’m told are generally harmless but are, nevertheless, unsettling.) Praise our Lord! He has given us all we need in His marvelous creation. He is able to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus. Seek and we will find.

@@suzieburnette1677 If your hair shed for six months did you still have any on your head? I had covid the end of august. Not a horrible case (no hospitalization) but it was like a bad flu, I was in bed for a week, and it was hard to shake the fever. So a couple weeks ago I notice tons of hair coming off in the shower….I always had some, but this was insane. If this keeps up, I worry I will be bald. People online say don’t use rogain because if you start you have to continually use it….if you stop, the shedding comes back. But according to the doctor, the shedding may only last six months. I wonder if you could just use rogain for six months and then if the cycle is over, if you go back to normal? One video recommended a rosemary rinse. Idk, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on things that won’t work. I’m also wondering if I should color it (I’m 48 so about every 8 weeks I would color it). Maybe I should just get a wig! Lol.

I'm a Mom in my early 50's. I have 4 children. I've had 4 miscarriages. My only sister passed away 13 years ago this Christmas. My Mom passed away 3 years ago this coming March. I've had 2 general surgeries. I also am on medication for hypo-thyroid. If I noticed any hair loss after any of these incidents, it was minor. I take a multivitamin with iron, b-complex, omegas, calcium with Vita d, protein shake, & zinc. In August this year, I got covid. Near the end of the month I was well enough to wash my hair and a horrifying amount fell out all over the floor. I've been losing it ever since. I also developed hyperthyroid which my endocrinologist says was caused from the covid. Those two together he says, likely caused the hair loss. My thyroid is more back in normal range where it had been prior to getting covid. I'm still taking all the vitamins I listed. I did increase the vitamin D3. Hair loss has lessoned but it's still falling. It's sickening and distressing. I was scared to wash my hair, for fear of how much more will I lose.

Got covid last September man, and yeah after 3 months it started to shed. That was last December. It's crazy that every friend who saw me is telling me- your hair looking thinner and thinner. The other one suggested to go see a derma cuz she's to worry but as u say- they don't believe. Glad there are things like this on KZfaq talks about this thing and u can finally stop wondering why are we experiencing this. In my case, I was the only one experiencing this hair loss-my friends who also got covid first never experienced this, as well as my siblings so nobody takes me seriously. They all blame it's bcoz of bleaching. Eh? I know when did this start. It started late november. I have split hair dye-and the other side is black(virgin hair)- it also shed a lot so.. How can bleached affect that side? As for now I will wear wig cuz I couldn't take seeing my thinning hair. I will wear it till my hair finally comes bck.

@@hakimexo29 My stylist said about 80% of her clients have experienced hair loss the past to years with the pandemic (including myself). Your body looks at your hair as not critical to survival. Color/bleach is not penetrating your scalp & it’s not going to contribute to hair loss. Rosemary Oil can help promote a healthy scalp which is important to promote growth. Beware of Minoxidil as once you start using it, hair loss will resume once discontinued so you get stuck using it indefinitely. I think it was irresponsible for the dermatologist in this news story to freely promote the use of it when each individual should research Minoxidil & talk to their doctor first. Irresponsible reporting IMO. Wishing you well as we both patiently wait for our hair to grow back

@@SP-wn6im It finally stopped falling out in December. I did end up loosing most of my hair. It looked even worse after I washed it. I didn't go bald but my scalp was very visible so I started to wear hair covers. I work in surgery so wearing a hair net most the day helped hide it. It is now growing back and very quickly I might add. I am using black seed oil, (vitamin) to regrow it and it is making a huge difference so much so that people are now commenting on how much my hair has grown back in such a short time. It is hard to stop hair fall out once it starts so I had to be patient and let it run its course. Now I'm just waiting patiently for it the new growth to catch up with the hairs that were left. Gonna be a few months as I had long, much thicker hair. I'd say in 6 months, it'll be mostly back to normal. Check out that black seed oil though. Works great.

It's annoyinh that some people don't believe that my massive hair loss is not an after effect of covid - specially my sisters, since we all experienced covid last September and I was the only one having a massive hair fall. They keep telling me its bcoz of hair dying-I know its not cuz Before I bleached my hair last december- I already noticed the excessive hair fall in late november. The hair fall intensified when the month of December had began. According to my intel-this hair loss starts 3 months after covid and my third month was December. They don't take me seriously because I'm the only experiencing this. It's annoying. They believed its bcoz of bleaching, but hey! I know more what's happening on myself than they do. In fact, i was the only got a big weight loss. I was 49 kg and during covid-only 5 days i instantly loss 5kg and during that period- I experienced the worst feeling of acidity that never happened in my whole entire life, while them-only fever and dry cough and that won't give much stress to their body than I do. Well atleast- i feel relieved that my case is common on the other side of the world. I'm feeling better now and at least I know it will return to its good condition. Even I have to wait for 6 up to 9months for recovery, well at least there's assurance. Hopefully I can manage to live using a synthetic hair this coming months.

Hi Joyce, I had covid in December and I went through hairloss in March and into April. I lost 20 lbs within about two weeks. I was able to stand in front of the sink and rub my hair as if though I were shampooing it, and hundreds of hair would fall off. It continued to happen for a couple of weeks, but it wasn't until May or June that I noticed a lot of the new growth. It is now back to normal and wavy as it has been in the past. I think the sudden shock of covid taking over your body, malnutrition, and covid treatment is the result of sudden hairloss. The last two remaining symtoms were fatigue and anxiety.

Exactly same here. I had the Delta variant beginning of August.. honestly I did not think much of it.. one day fever and body pain, then next days a bit of coughing, that was it basically. Was back to normal super fast. Then a week later the loss of taste and smell started.. but I did some tricks and that came back after 2-3 days.. How shocked was I when my hair started falling out in clumps now in October. This whole month now every day it´s falling, not easing up at all, every day am losing what must be thousands of hairs. From all the hair that fell out I could make several long hair wigs that much I am sure. I already doubled my protein intake but no difference whatsoever. Thanks God I have a lot of hair to begin with so whenever I say something people look at me and tell me I am being ridiculous, even my bf was doing the same. Then I showed him the amount that comes out in a day now he does not say "it´s all in your head" anymore, he actually said "holy sh*t" when he finally understood the amount of hair I am losing. Can´t believe how people don´t even believe you when you are going through something so traumatic just because you still have hair left on your head. I am not someone who complains easily but this has me so worried. In the beginning did not even connect it with Covid, thanks to some online research only I figured out that this happens to a lot of people after the virus. At least now I am a bit less worried as for almost all hair does grow back, it´s just part of the natural hair cycle. Nonetheless it´s a miserable feeling to see it falling out in such insane amounts, have never experienced this before to such an extent, really not a nice feeling. And you don´t even have to do anything, just touch it and your hands are full of hair. Or in the morning on the pillow. Not that I am pulling on it or anything. Real crazy. Just hope it settles soon else I guess I will have to go shopping for a wig :-(

Ginger and Turmeric Root tea I made has incredibly helped the pain and inflammation I was experiencing on my scalp. I used a cotton ball and applied it all over my scalp and left it in over night. My head stopped hurting. It was so painful from the extremes hair loss I couldn’t even wear my hood or hat.

So right!! I have (HAD) extremely thick hair and 3 months after having covid, had massive shedding....you could see through my hair! I lost about 50% of my hair from 2/1-3/4!!! Just one month! I believe I would have lost the rest within weeks! I shaved it all off last night because it was more depressing having it fall out all day long. I can move on now :)

@@kedargurjar7373 I noticed my hair shedding around the end of January/First of February....I'd run my hand through my hair and about 20 strands would be on my fingers and my brush was filling up. By the first of March, I'd lost probably close to half of my hair and then I shaved it off. A few weeks later when I was getting tiny hair growth, I could see the areas where my hair had fallen out because nothing was growing there. Since I shaved my head, I don't know how long I would have kept losing it. By the end of May, I can see that all of my hair is growing back. The areas where I lost it, are at about 1/4" but are growing back full. When I got Covid in November, I was extremely sick. I lost 32lbs in about 2 weeks. That's probably why I lost so much hair in such a short amount of time. I read that the shedding could take about 3-4 months. I would have been bald by month 2 if I hadn't shaved my head. Just felt good to take control of the situation!

I had Covid in October 2021 and it lasted a month in a half. My Doctor said I have long Covid. I had oxygen at home never had a fever and got constipated really bad it looked like I was pregnant with twins and had problems with my stomach. I did not get hungry and had heartburn every day all day long. My hair started falling out in February 2022. My hair is still falling out and I still have stomach problems. I have a sensation in my stomach every time I eat or drink something and had gastric emptying test and a few other test. Now I have RAPID DUMPING SYNDROME. The stomach muscle is no longer able to mechanically break down the food. I have lost 13 pounds. I still get heartburn and I had to stop taking all my medications cause they made the heartburn worse The only thing that stops the heartburn is baking soda.

I had covid in December and my hair started falling out in February . Hasn't stopped since. I have a shopping bag full of hair just from cleaning my brush. I believe I've lost about 75 to 80 percent of my waist length hair and recently had about 7 inches cut off. I tried minoxidil for two days and it made me itchy; I figured why try to grow hair if it might fall out anyway? So, I'm just trusting and believing that God is going to grow my hair back in His time. I am taking 50,000 units of Biotin and eating well (almost every day) as well. I can't stand to look in the mirror but I know this will pass.

I was overdosed on testosterone by my OB/GYN a few years ago. As soon as my new doctor and I got that under control, the hair stopped falling out and then it took about three months for little hairs to start showing up again. It was a total of three years before my new hair caught up with my existing hair. I have hair that is about 3 inches below my shoulders, so you can certainly speed that up by wearing shorter hair. I read about women who experienced a traumatic hair loss and simply cut what was left into a short bob. If you do that, then the recovery time would be a lot shorter since the new hair doesn’t have to grow very long to catch up with the existing hair. Right now I am still in the midst of my post Covid related Hair loss and it is as traumatic this time as it was last time. As before, I am consoled by the knowledge that it is going to grow back, but in the meantime, the prospect of having bald patches or bits of scalp showing is upsetting. I’m going tomorrow to get fitted for a halo (that’s a hair piece that hangs from the top of your head so it does not put any stress on your hair). If my hair loss gets much worse, then I’ll go back and get a full-blown wig and wear that until the hair starts to come in again.
