Have you “met” Judge Manning, in Fulton County, GA? The jail is being investigated for 2 prisoner deaths while in jail (a recent civil case: the prisoner was eaten alive by bed bugs-millions of dollars in damages), plus there’s been at least one other death. He won’t even spend a year in jail and doesn’t have to be on the registry, so not only is this flat out disgraceful with no regard for the victims suffering but there’s no way to protect children in the future. Someone will let this creature in their home with their children not knowing what his intentions are. These ppl don’t change they just get better at not getting caught.

Not saying it's true here, but many of these cases plead out to spare the victim from testifying, at their own request or their parents'. The state can subpoena the victim but that's traumatic as well.
@CoteMoretz
@CoteMoretz 7 ай бұрын
I’m pretty sure @jjpaq is probably right about them pleading out to avoid the victim having to go to the trial. Or at least that was what I assumed when I first heard that case. Not saying I agree with it though, I have always thought sex crimes against children should be punished more severely than they are in a lot of cases. I see it as being just as bad or worse than murder. When a child goes through that, it is a lifelong trauma that leads many of those that go through it to having severe drug addictions and mental health issues.
@cynergy7985
@cynergy7985 7 ай бұрын
Yes, I get the whole pleading down to spare the victim but not that much! They removed the child from the equation all together. Judge Steven's said the only thing different between the original charge & the plea was that they removed the child aspect so it just looks like he attacked an adult. That's the part of don't agree with. They could have reduced the charges a little but the child aspect should have been left in. That child deserves justice! That's just my opinion.

It sounded to me.. that this attorney wasn’t a public defender, but a defense attorney who works in a practice, but they are contracted by the town or city to represent certain defendants. Maybe, possibly, when the public defender’s office has become way too swamped..? I know that where I’m from in upstate, NY, we’ve got what’s called conflict attorneys. &; they’re actual practicing defense attorneys who represent someone who have gotten arrested with two other people. So; two defendants receive counsel from the public defender’s office and one lucky person gets the attorney from an actual law practice. Here, attorneys have to do a certain number of cases for their county. Now, I’m not positive if the county pays them for their hard work.. or if it’s completely pro bono. But, it’s like, they’re expected to kind of “give back”, I suppose. Which helped me while I was in my early 20s. But, again, I’m in upstate NY, (not NYC, NYC is literally just a part of New York- the state-. I’m in upstate New York. 3 hours from New York City).

@@slc1161yes but if she was taking as prescribed and wasn’t driving badly or seemed intoxicated that’s just messed up! So many medications today say the same things but no one stops their lives and doesn’t drive so I don’t get what people on meds are supposed to do. She tested within the limits! Unless there is proof she was acting intoxicated or driving dangerously then case should be dropped, period, or it sets a dangerous precedent that everyone can get get a dui on those meds if they’r e just takes meds that say that. That’s insane!

because some medications, like diazepam which is a sedative, states on the bottle to not drive while taking the medication... so if she took it an hour or two before driving, it could very much have impaired her ability to drive.

No what's actually SICK is the FACT that HUMAN BEINGS need to be TOLD how young is TOO YOUNG... The fact that people are so degraded and disgusting that's they have to have laws in place to protect CHILDREN from GROWN MEN and women. The fact that this is even something that we have to talk about and hear about STILL in 2023..... that's SICK! And the fact that most men STILL date women ENTIRELY TOO YOUNG for them, however because it IS LEGAL, they get to tell everyone to shut up. Also the FACT that LEGAL age in most states for marriage with at least ONE guardians (some states makes it easier) signature is at the tender age of 16 and that's also the age of consent in most states. Children can't go to war but they're fair game for people over the age of 18. This world and it's justice system is SICK. If they aren't old enough to drink, if brains aren't fully formed until 25 why are we giving FULLY FORMED BRAINS a shot at people who haven't FULLY developed yet? But I know men (who run the government and makes most of the laws) need an out...and 25 is just too long to wait for them to get THIER piece.

@ 8:01 The judge just responded to the defendants lawyer by saying that "everybody responds differently to medications" when the lawyer said he spoke to her prescribing doctor and that the doctor told him that she had her "therapeutic dose and nothing more" and her doctor also added that the levels she had in her system would NOT not have effected or interfered with her ability to drive.....BUT THEN the judge responds by pretty much saying that the doctor shouldn't really say such a thing since "everybody responds differently when it comes to medications" so he is pretty much just saying that he can't or won't accept what the doctor said because "he (doctor) wouldn't know that for sure" or to that effect anyways since he said more but I just didn't put it here word for word, just giving a condensed version of what he was insinuating. So what the judge is pretty much saying is that no doctor can say that a person is ok to operate a vehicle just because that person was or is within their range of a therapeutic dose (in other words she did not take more than what she was supposed to) of their prescribed meds.....ummmmm.......so can that argument be used when it comes to a breathalyzer test or a urine test???? Plus, if he feels this way then it stands to reason that he SHOULD FEEL THE SAME when it comes to ANY and ALL other tests that are done to find a level of whatever is in a persons system, whether it's alcohol or illegal substances. Which makes ZERO sense. C'mon judge, you can't pick and choose which tests are possible and which tests or methods are not possible. It's all or none. AND on top of that it just doesn't make sense then to question a DOCTOR on whether or not the patient is within their therapeutic dose. A doctor is just as much of a professional as a judge and shouldn't be questioned on their findings when it's within their expertise. I rambled on because I wanted to make sure I explained what I was thinking and I always seem to end up overexplaining myself but hopefully you get the gist of what I'm trying to say......which is, why bother with ANY tests then if you believe that "each person is different". I guess I could've just used that last part instead if writing a novel for a comment. (Sorry about that). 😂😂

EXACTLY I agree!!! That case should be dropped for her sounds like the judge has it out for her, I liked him but that’s just unfair. It sets a dangerous precedent that they can just arrest anyone with medication that says that on the bottle (and tons of meds do even ones that aren’t controlled)! The testing proved she was within her dosage and then the doctor also gave his opinion as well - that should have ended it!
